Has anyone here recently given the Hackerrank SDE-2 system design interview for a backend role?
The recruiter mentioned it is component-level design, focusing on DB schema, APIs, race conditions, consistency, and failure handling.
Would really appreciate any insights on
What kind of problem was asked?
How deep did they go?
Any specific topics I should prepare?
I cleared my interview rounds for SDE 2 and on May 19 HR asked me to submit documents. The email also mentioned-
While you have been identified as one of our shortlisted candidates, a final selection is yet to be made.
After a week, I followed up and HR said hiring freeze for now and they were waiting for some global approval before releasing offer.
I checked again recently and was told to wait another two weeks. do offer approvals sometimes take this long.
Just wanted to know if anyone has been in a similar situation. Is this global approval thing a normal process there or could it be related to the hiring freeze?

My interview is tomorrow, and HR mentioned there will be 3 technical rounds.

Please share your experience regarding the coding difficulty level, whether the questions were more leetcode style or problem solving based, how much focus was given to system design, what backend concepts were discussed, and whether there were any python specific questions.
