Best Non-Owner Car Insurance?

Hey all,

I just recently became a new driver! I’m in my mid-twenties, I don’t own a car myself though I’d like to get some non-owner insurance just for a peace of mind since my neighbor says they’ll let me drive their one car that they don’t use. It is an insured vehicle.

I got quoted The General on credit karma but thought I’d come to Reddit while I do my research and browsing to see if anyone else has some insight and experience.

Thanks!

Need to hear it’s okay to fail

Hey Internet Parents,

Tomorrow I have my driving test to get my license. I’m in my mid twenties, I’ve only recently gotten over my driving anxiety so I’m proud of myself for that. Two years ago I took the test and failed by going 5 over the speed limit, was an automatic test failure.

This year I decided to try again just to give myself more opportunity in life. I’ve paid for driving lessons. No one knows I’m taking the test tomorrow since I can’t handle if I fail hearing that pitiful sigh that’s meant to be sympathetic though will just make feel stupid and even more like a failure. But I’ve been crying all day due to the nerves and not being able to talk about it has made it worse.

Growing up, I was never able to fail. I just want to feel the pressure lifted off for once. I just want to know that it’s okay to fail. Another reason I haven’t told anyone is that I don’t want to hear “You don’t have to worry, you’re going to pass”, I just want to hear “If you pass, that’s good, but if you fail, that’s okay too”. Don’t know why, but that comforts me more

Really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and comment

UPDATE:

I PASSED!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT AND KIND WORDS

Applied to a job on a college campus a week ago, should I reach out?

I know that college jobs can take months upon months, I don’t know if I should reach out asking for an update?

Should I take the job?

Hey all,

So I’ve recently got done with an interview as a permanent GS-05 park guide in Washington D.C

I have always wanted to work for NPS, not sure if I’ll get the job, but I’d feel crazy to not accept it if I do. I’ve been struggling a lot to get a full time job after college. I’ve been jumping between seasonal jobs for the past two years. I’ve enjoyed the seasonal work, though it’d be nice to settle down for once.

With all the nonsense going on with government, I’m a bit hesitant. I don’t know why, but the Probationary Clause is making me a bit uncertain. Plus, the pay doesn’t seem that great, and I’d like to live in the city since I don’t have a car. I could possibly live somewhere close to the metro where it’s cheaper so that is an option.

Just wanted to get some insight. Thanks!
