Progress on my small PC of Yoshi's rookie cards.

Here's to a good start!

Somewhat of an introduction of myself to this sub, here's the humble beginning of my 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers PC. The Duke is a reprint and just a place holder until I am ready to start making bigger card purchases. I appreciate this subs guidance and a couple of sales already. I've started reading "The Boys of Summer" to get into the history a bit more.

I was given the greenlight to start a card collection on my 40th. Quickly got jaded by the state of modern cards and the multitude of mojo/stardust/geo/rainbow/whatever refractors after making the mistake of buying boxes at my LCS. Honestly reminds me of the now deemed "junk wax" era I grew up collecting in. But without the competition/variety of manufacturers. Pivoted towards buying singles after a lot of good advice from different subs.

I've had season tickets to the L.A. Dodgers for 9 years now and had a blast experiencing their back to back championships. That inspired my collecting of all the championship teams, starting with 1955. It's gotten me to discover and really enjoy the story of Jim Gilliam and others on the team.

Currently chasing 50s Gilliams, 1955 Dodgers, and a couple of modern Dodgers players. Much more enjoyable than buying boxes!
