Serious. I think I'm being stalked by a dark pyramid or triangle during the nights. The last two photos are representations of how we saw it.
On July 22nd, a friend and I decided to go to Montserrat, a place famous for its high UFO activity in Spain with my friend. That night we saw a lot of strange activity in the sky, but between 11:00 PM and midnight, I noticed that what looked like a piece of sky began to move slowly and swayingly, as if it was having trouble maintaining its balance. I tried to take photos and videos, but the quality is extremely low because my phone's camera is bad and the object seemed to be completely camouflaged with the sky. Then the object slowly positioned itself above our heads and remained there, moving from side to side, until we left At approximately 3am . The object seemed to move more when we spoke directly to it. The most terrifying thing is that two days later, more than three hours away by car, we saw it again during our fishing trip. We both saw it on both occasions, so I don't think it's delusional. What do you think?
Which camera should I buy?
Hey everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice from this community on upgrading my gear specifically for recording ufos and anomalies in the sky. I’ve been relying on my phone, but I want to move away from using my smartphone. As we all know, phone cameras just don't cut it for this kind of thing—the digital zoom completely destroys the image quality, and the small sensors fall apart in low-light conditions. I really want to be able to capture clear, detailed footage of distant or fast-moving objects, especially during the night and twilight hours.
Right now, my total budget is around $600, so I'm trying to figure out the absolute best setup I can get for that price. I'm prioritizing something with a massive optical zoom or a strong video capability so I can pull in those high-altitude objects without losing critical resolution. Because a lot of my observation time happens after dark, exceptional low-light performance is a major priority. I need something with clean high ISO video capabilities. I am also very open to exploring handheld digital infrared or night vision monoculars if you guys think those provide a better return on investment for nocturnal skywatching.
Beyond the lens reach and light sensitivity, focus reliability is another huge factor for me. It is incredibly frustrating when a camera constantly hunts for focus against a dark sky, so I need a device with fast, accurate autofocus but also a very intuitive manual focus override. Portability is equally important because I need to be able to deploy it quickly handheld if something suddenly appears, while still being able to mount it to a tripod for steady, long-term scanning.
Whether you suggest a specific superzoom bridge camera, a used mirrorless setup, or dedicated night vision optics, I’d love to hear your recommendations. What gear fits into that $600 range and has given you the best results? Thanks in advance for the help
