Anyone who sees Digger in Vistavision at LS, please report back on if the film starts bang on showtime

I know it says no ads, but if my screening is at 12:00pm, will it actually start at 12:00pm or more like 12:05pm? Would love exact time if possible. Thanks!

I think it’s safe to say we’ve found our Best Documentary winner

Just saw the trailer for the new Nathan Fielder documentary called You Can See Everything, and I think it’s safe to say…we have a winner on our hands.

It is currently premiering as a surprise screening at Telluride as we speak.

Coming to cinemas this October.

Will a Closing Night + Centrepiece Pass enable me to purchase Godzilla tickets if they’re still available?

Also, when my pass presale window opens, and I am logged in, when I click on a film time slot I want, a dropdown ticket option to add it to my cart will appear right? I don’t need to enter a promo code or anything?

Well that’s one way to follow up a Best Picture and Best Director win…

Chances of additional Fjord and Artificial screenings being added?

Two of the biggest films of the festival and they each only have two screenings.

I imagine both these films will sell out way before general public sale on September 15, and I don’t think the clashing of Fjord’s second screening and Artificial’s premiere will still lower the demand for either.

I am desperate to see Artificial but I worry both screenings will be sold out before my Closing Night pass presale opens.

Do we think there will be additional screenings announced?

You were funny for a while Ridley, but now you’ve made an enemy

Ah yes. Let’s blame the young actor who you specifically sought out after watching him in an Irish romantic limited series, rather than blaming yourself for making a piece of shit movie 50 years into your career. This guy needs to grow some balls holy shit

What order of priority should I go see these movies?

Got my A-List running dry this week. Nothings standing out to me but I’m in the mood to go to the movies. I’ve already seen Coyote vs Acme btw.

The options are:

- The Dog Stars
- Buddy
- The End of Oak Street
- Idiots
- It Ends

I also still need to see The Rivals of Amziah King, but I’m pretty sure that’s only really still playing at the smaller arthouse cinemas. Thanks!

NYFF - Which films should I see?

I’ve already seen a number of the films from cannes / sundance earlier this year.

These are the films I currently plan on prioritising.

- Behemoth
- All of a Sudden
- Clarissa
- La Gradiva
- A Long Winter
- Misty Green
- Possible Love
- Tender Loving Care
- The Unknown

Please let me know if I’ve missed anything, or if I should remove something.

And also, what are the chances of some other big titles being added late such as Wild Horse Nine, The Debut, Elsinore, Ink, and Club Kid?

Why didn’t Tiresias warn Odysseus of Calypso?

Might be a stupid question, but when Tiresias warns Odysseus of the whirlpool, the sea spider, and his men eating the sacred cattle of the sun god, can’t he also see the seven years of capture he will experience at the hands of Calypso? If he could see it, why wouldn’t he warn him?

Of course, the answer may be that in order to truly be ready to come home, he had to endure the years of being held prisoner to Calypso, but surely there was an alternative way which didn’t require seven years stuck on an island.

Did I miss something? Because I’m fairly certain Tiresias would have been able to see this on Odysseus’ path too. Thanks!

Is a Closing Night + Centrepiece Pass a good enough pass to give me the opportunity to get premiere / q&a tickets?

The ticket window presale opens September 9th at 12:00pm.

Will I have the opportunity to get a ticket to the world premiere of Behemoth? Or will it just be for a simultaneous screening going on elsewhere?

Will I get a chance to go to the Godzilla premiere? Or will tickets likely be sold out for that screening by then?

Is this pass a strong enough pass to fully take advantage of nyff? Especially to be able to see the big films on the slate (e.g. the expected wild horse nine, the debut, etc)? Even putting the q&a’s aside, will standard tickets to screenings of these level of films be impossible? Or is my ticket window early enough to ensure I will have almost zero problems?

Thanks!!! First time going to nyff so I’m a bit panicked.

Who do I have to sell my soul to in order to get John Leguizamo an Oscar nom for The Odyssey?

Walking out of the theatre the first time, I was overwhelmed, yet still had one actor head and shoulders above the rest - John Leguizamo.

Walking out of the theatre the second time, I had John Leguizamo’s torso, buttocks, legs, and feet about the rest. He is truly outstanding in this film.

There is no doubt that The Odyssey will be getting 12+ nominations. There is even a chance it equals or beats the nomination record just set by Sinners of 16.

Thankfully, John Leguizamo has been doing the rounds this press tour, so that’s a great start for his campaign.

Unfortunately, we are yet to see many predicted supporting actor noms yet (the debut, wild horse nine, digger), but I am so ready to give the same hype to Leguizamo as many did last year for Delroy Lindo

Could you see him going all the way to the Oscar nom?

Avengers Doomsday - Regal Times Square or Empire 25?

Going to be in the city over christmas and snagged a ticket for each theatre.

Good seats for both.

Both for “Infinity Vision” but not dolby or anything flash by the looks of it. I’m not from the US so i’m not too familiar with all these different formats / theatre choices and details.

Which one is better? I’ll then return the other one. Thanks!

Who on earth is the current #1 for Supporting Actress?

Am I crazy or was Anne Hathaway’s performance and slightly stale?

The role of Penelope in my opinion just was not juicy enough to allow Anne to fully showcase her acting chops, but seeing as how many currently have her as their Number 1 for Supporting Actress, is it honestly a strong enough performance to make her a TWO time oscar winner?

But then again, looking through the other options, who else feels like a Number 1 so far? No one to me.

I do think Anne is deserving of a nomination, and she most certainly will get one, but is it so crazy to put Inde Navarrette at Number 1 if she’s in supporting?

I’ve seen La Bola Negra and I do not think Cruz’s role is enough to warrant a win. Same goes for Samantha Morton in The Odyssey.

I have never heard of Mariana di Girolamo, though I hear she’s got a juicy role in Wild Horse Nine. Tho, when it comes to academy voters, will they feel more inclined to vote for Navarrette due to them feeling it is a good way of recognising / rewarding Obsession for it’s monumental box office achievements?

I also do not buy Parker Posey as I’ve heard most of her dialogue is through phone calls.

Are we underestimating Sandra Huller in Digger? Tho I will say she is absolutely outstanding in Rose and is very deserving of a lead actress nom.

Where are you all sitting currently with supporting actress?

MELBOURNE IMAX 70mm - Friday July 17 6:00pm - anyone want two free tickets?

Can’t make it anymore. I’m from Sydney and was going to do a day trip, but I’m overseas now, so if anyone wants them then let me know.

They’re good seats in row J.
