i had 7 customers with over 200k today. went through all there histories and every single one has ONLY DONE OIL CHANGES. i presented menus, suggest CAF and EAF and got denied on all. the mixture between “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and “ it’s a toyota it just needs oil changes and the 100k tune up i do myself” killed me.the only recommendations the techs found were what i presented at first and again all no. i know toyotas are reliable but genuinely wtf😂 as someone who’s worked at toyota for the last 2 years i hear all these maintenance and repair stories like it’s a dream..
So since i started writing i always asked myself if i mess up my knee or something that would make me not able to walk for X amount of time, what would happen? i only stress this because i ski, mountain bike, workout and do a lot of activities. but my previous drive manager broke their ankle bad bad while at home and proceeded to take 2+ months off of work. which in my eyes made sense due to the physical demands of doing this job at a toyota dealership. but recently a coworker tore their ACL and took 2 days off for dr appointments and whatnot to see what needs to be done. he comes back in at 3pm the next day to talk with our new manager that he’s gonna have surgery and that they’re not gonna be able to work for at least a month. my manager preceded to say “that’s unacceptable” demanding a doctor note or every day he misses is a write up. then proceeded to say “this job just doesn’t seem like it’s quite working out for you, i’ll speak to the GM and give you a call when we decide what we’re going to do”… now i’m just reconsidering working for autonation all together if they fire him or something.. seems illegal to me but 🤷♂️
as the title says, i am interested in leaving toyota as an advisor. i really enjoy the principle of being an advisor but handling on some days upwards of 30 appointments in a day from the second i get in to when i leave is getting old. i feel like a shitty fast food worker some days taking orders and not being able to do my job, like at all. at one point today i wrote up 5 repair orders for myself in 17 minutes. no selling, no nothing. we don’t have a warranty person so that big job i need to get approved? give me 2 weeks to finally get it approved. I want to go somewhere with less RO count and can actually do my damn job. 440 RO’s last month with 90k in gross. it’s getting old.
me and my group decided last minute to go to rufus this weekend and need camping passes.. i survived linetronics 2 weeks ago and i’m getting more annoyed over the fact there’s no camping left but tickets are available. send a plur god down for us!
