Found these 2 in my isopod tank

First post here, not sure if this subreddit is the place to go(?)

I am *quite* sure the first one is Scolopendra subspinipes. It has since been murdered.

I found it cuddled around maybe 20 to 25 offspring, so I panicked and flooded the tank to drown the offspring, then went in with tongs, found the adult, it refused to die so had to murder it with tongs to make sure it didnt escape into my tank and kill all my isopods.

Im quite sure it has been in there growing to around 10cm and eating my isopods -_- but just want to check

Second and third images are of a little red thibgamabob that I need to know if it will pose a danger to my isopods or not. I suspect its Trigoniulus corallinus due to seeing a decently sized red millipede inside the tank some months ago, though its been MIA since at least June.

Fourth image is my isopods (or rather food for the past few months)

Thanks ;-;

Imsane to run my own MUN?

From Singapore here, MUN is kinda gatekeeped for the "better" schools, and this year private candidates cost 85 dollars from the past 45 dollars

So me and my friend (ive done 5, shes done 1) decided why not we host our own internal MUN. Probably only one council, 25 people max, but is it feasible? I kinda want MUN to be smth everyone tries at least once. (I used to go as school delegate so my fees were covered by the state, now im graduating so the school no longer can cover my fees since they are in december, when j have since graduated)

Thoughts and tips?

Error coin?

Straits settlements 1945 (middle one)

They were all squares till like the 50s, but this one is a circle. Back obviously shows it was a square once upon a time. Possible error coin? Or someones doing?

My own guess is that either it got minted wrong or that the coins were made into circles to save resources after the war

Thoughts?

Am I tripping or is this a Royal P

I dont recall the Royal P having a single lift-up lid(?) Isnt it supposed to be the gull wing cover with exposed/covered spools?

So what exactly is this typewriter? Owner says its a Royal P from the 30s but idk man

u/OkPay599 — 1 month ago

How much should I be paying for this?

I mean, its a nice royal and all, but the owners asking 260 SGD (abt 200 USD)

Works well, can type, but has some rust and internal keys are abit siezed.

Thoughts?

What to do with fakes

I highly HIGHLY suspect these are all fakes

The Hong kong one is a confirm fake since it is magnetic (wtf)

The rest? Not so sure, but likely to be fake too. I have done ice cube test which I learned nothing... and ive done ringing test, which they all sound like silver (i actually DO have real silver coins to compare against)

What to do with fakes? Idk how to stamp over them, do I just destroy them or smth?

Documenting my collection on Instagram, thoughts?

Starting an insta acc to doccument all the stamps and miscellaneous nonsense I own.

I intend to classify them prob on era or country of origin. Ill use the acc to post my typewriters and other long dead hobbies

Any thoughts? Any improvements on formats? Id like to hear what you all think 🤔

Re-painted Royal 10!

Thanks to u/bastugubbar I now know this machine is a 1929ish Royal Model 10!

Very proud of this machine, as it is by far the oldest machine I've ever owned, and its come a long way (see last image)

(Still working the typing kinks btw)

The previous owner said his father used it in his business after WW2, and has been a family heirloom. Said that he used to type postcards with it on their family balcony.

Glad that the machine is finally in working order, and though its not the prettiest machine in this subreddit, it is definitely my fav <3

also It has SUCH A COOL USERS LIST!!! Not many machines (maybe the KMG(?)) Can say their famous users include hemmingway, Ian flemming, and Taylor swift!!!

I shld prob calm down...

Serial number identification

Royal 10, but funnily enough I cant seem to find anything about its serial on the typewriter database.

From how I see it it looks like 1A 1057277

But none of the machines start with 1 or even have A

It might be VA but as far as im concerned none of the machines on Typewriter database start with VA as well

All I know its a post-1927 machine since it has single pane glass sides

Thoughts?

Multiple issues with a problematic Royal model 10

Platen does not turn with lever. How to unstuck and make them turn together? Any ideas?

The platen moves with the platen knob, but when you return the carraige it does not turn with the return lever.

I have reduced the issue down to the little button thingy on the left knob, and its permanently stuck in, but like, inside, so pulling it out does nothing...

Upside is that all keys work and all internal components are present and accounted for! (I will replace rollers and maybe platen)

Also the right platen knob is missing and i was gna use a bottle cap, but any ideas on that feel free as well.

This is a really crappy really shitty model 10 Royal, but hey it was either I save it or its in the trash.

I am 15, and uh, im kinda out of ideas ••"

Feel free to roast me or curse at me for not repairing it well, im trying, and honestly this royal has made me numb alr so...

Anyone ever heard of a JayKay typewriter?

Found a shop where i live (singapore) and there is a weird metal typewriter, looks like a ripoff olympia or smth, but its a small portable, had a paper in it from 1967. Shop owner didnt allow a photo but it says jaykay on the front. A google search has nothing pop up, so just curious if anyone else has any info
