New Addition to the Collection

Was not expecting to run across this - especially for that price. This store had new release pop records locked in boxes, but this album just sitting on the shelves with the Neil Diamond and Dan Fogelberg records - crazy. Hard to believe that stores don’t take the time to check the value of records, but I’m happy to be the beneficiary .

Edit : This is a 1981 UK pressing of The Only Fun In Town by Scottish post-punk band Josef K. Median value on Discogs is $50.

just a thought about the clerk

After using the app for a bit and really liking this idea of the "clerk" - and I'm assuming that this is being done via an AI persona, I started to think about how cool it would be to have the clerk be based on the archetypal characters from High Fidelity - either a composite, or to be able to choose one. Maybe it's just me, but I like the idea of a snarky music snob clerk that would be praising my Guided By Voices record on one day and telling me to "go to the mall" when I have something basic in the queue.

Really cool application

Hey, new user here and I really like the application. I especially like the "spin of the day" feature. Overall the app feels really well done and the set up and sync with Discogs was really good - and I have a decent size library (1968 records).
One thing I noticed today is that I got the Pete Yorn album "Arrangingtime" as the spin of the day, and I was reading the blurb from the clerk (which is a really cool idea) and it felt like maybe an AI Hallucination? This was the first paragraph : Ten years since ArrangingTime dropped and people still forget Butch Walker parked himself behind the board for half of it, playing guitar and bass alongside Yorn. Walker brought that same blood-and-sawdust energy he used producing Matthew Sweet and his own solo records, stripping the slick sheen right off the LA pop machine.

But Butch Walker did not produce any of this record. He did some production on the "NightCrawler" record - I think that's why the clerk is getting confused?

Where have I been?

I have been a musician and record collector my whole life, and while not necessarily focused on jam bands my collection has plenty of Dead, Phish, etc., but Goose just flew completely under my radar until this year when I heard a song off of Chain Yer Dragon and was immediately hooked. Just snagged Big Modern and Dripfield, and I’m listening to Dripfield for the first time as I write this post. So impressed with this band - the songs and musicianship are excellent. Obviously seeing them live needs to be a priority in the near future, but while I’m confused as to how I missed out on Goose earlier, I’m happy to have found a new band to sink my teeth into.

Angine De Poitrine Vinyl at Wal Mart

Was completely caught off guard to see both Angine de Poitrine albums at my local Wal Mart in north Texas.
The barcodes didn’t scan (I don’t think they were in the system yet), so I had to get them to manually enter the price.
Hard to believe this band went so viral that they made it to Wal Mart.

Does this panel need to be replaced?

had an electrician out to troubleshoot a breaker that was tripping - ended up being a short in the driveway gate - so temporarily disconnected and now everything (except for the gate) is back to running fine.
But, he told me that I NEED to replace this whole panel - citing corrosion and some neutral wires up near the top left. Just trying to understand if this was an accurate recommendation or just an attempt to upsell? the quote was over $8500 which also seems pretty out there.
at this point I thanked him for the quote and told him I would have to think about it. Other than the gate issue that just happened we haven't had any issues in the 13 years we have lived here - but the house and panel date back to 1996 just for reference.
