Manufacturing

Hey everyone, I just landed a new job with a client and they're looking for maintenance technicians, mechanics, assemblers, and production supervisors. Since most of these folks aren't active on LinkedIn, getting reliable direct phone numbers has been a massive pain. What tools or platforms are actually working best right now for finding hands-on technical talent in manufacturing and getting good contact info? Thanks!

UK vs USA

UK technical recruiters who moved into the US market: What has your experience been like?

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in hearing from recruiters who have worked both the UK and US technical recruitment markets.

I've got 8 years of experience recruiting within UK engineering/technical recruitment and I'm looking to understand how the US market compares from people who have actually made the switch.

How have you found the differences in:

BD and winning new clients

Hiring managers and their openness to agency approaches

Competition with other agencies

Candidate availability and engagement

Typical roles, sectors, and the overall technical market

Recruitment processes, speed, and expectations

Fees and the general commercial side

Overall, what has been the biggest difference between the two markets?

What has been easier than you expected, and what has been more challenging?

Would love to hear some real experiences.

Account restricted for no reason

Has anyone dealt with repeated LinkedIn account restrictions for suspected automation when you’re not using any automation tools?
For the past few days LinkedIn has been restricting my account multiple times a day, claiming they suspect automated activity.
The problem is that I’m not using any automation software, scraping tools, bots, Chrome extensions, or third-party LinkedIn tools. I’m working from a brand new laptop and everything I’m doing is manual.
I’ve already hit my weekly connection request limit, so I’m not even sending invitations anymore. At the moment I’m simply building a business list for my recruitment company, which means I’m manually viewing a large number of profiles throughout the day and collecting information.
Usually when LinkedIn restricts my account, I submit an appeal and the restriction is removed almost immediately. However, last night LinkedIn wouldn’t let me submit another appeal because it said I’d reached the limit for appeals and had to wait a few hours before trying again.
What I don’t understand is what is actually triggering this. The only thing I can think of is the number of profiles I’m viewing each day.
The other issue is that I can’t find any way to contact a real person. I don’t have Premium, the AI support chat is useless, and I can’t find an option to open a support ticket.

It’s becoming a real problem because it’s interrupting my work several times a day.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Engineering CVs

After several years recruiting within the engineering and manufacturing sector, I’ve recently taken the leap and started my own recruitment business.
The admin side is done, the website is live, and I’m now beginning conversations with contacts and clients I’ve built relationships with over the years.
One thing that’s really made me appreciate how much infrastructure established agencies have behind them is candidate sourcing.
At the moment, I’m keeping costs as lean as possible until I make my first placement, which means I don’t currently have access to some of the larger CV databases such as CV-Library and similar platforms.

I’m curious to hear from other recruiters, business owners and hiring managers:
Where do you find the best candidates outside of the traditional paid CV databases?

LinkedIn is an obvious one, but are there any communities, groups, forums, networking strategies or sourcing methods that you’ve found particularly effective?
I’m especially interested in hearing from those who started their agency from scratch and had to build a candidate network without a huge budget behind them.
Any advice, lessons learned, or mistakes to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
