Looks like Gapryong might've also approached Mujin Jin at some point to recruit him into the Fist Gang, but Mujin probably refused and said something like, "I'll fight alone."

If that's what happened, I could see a fight breaking out afterward. Maybe Gap tried to forcefully test or recruit him, but neither side managed to decisively win, and the fight ended in a draw. That could be where the whole "Mujin was Gap's rival" rumor started from.

Of course, this is just speculation, but if they did fight, it'd most likely be Base Gapryong, since Gap only unlocked TC later against TUI Shingen. So even if the rival narrative came from that fight, it wouldn't automatically scale Mujin to TC Gap.
