Petrol, diesel rates today on May 15: Ending days of intense speculation, the Centre on Friday announced an immediate Rs 3 per litre hike in petrol and diesel prices, marking the first revision in retail fuel rates in nearly four years. The increase takes effect immediately from Friday, pushing fuel prices higher across the country without any transition window.

The move comes amid relentless pressure from elevated global crude oil prices and mounting under-recoveries at state-run oil marketing companies as the ongoing West Asia crisis continues to disrupt global energy supplies. With crude remaining volatile and input costs surging, industry experts had warned that a fuel price correction was becoming unavoidable.

The revised retail prices are now in force across India, with final pump rates varying from state to state depending on local VAT and dealer commissions. The decision is expected to have an immediate impact on transportation costs, inflation expectations, and household budgets.

After dairy brand Amul, state-run cooperative flagship brand Verka under Milkfed has also announced a hike in milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across several variants, effective from May 14.

In a letter issued by the cooperative milk producer union, all Verka distributors were informed about the revised rates.

Standard one-litre milk, which was earlier sold at Rs 63, will now cost Rs 65, while full-fat milk will be priced at Rs 71 instead of Rs 69.

The gold rates of 24k 999 pure gold are up by 5.79% and silver about 8.3% due to the hike in import duty levied by the government

what is your opion will the rates go up further or would return back to normal?

As per me in the short term rates are going to rise also when festive season arrives maybe we could see gold at 1.8 lakhs or higher

Also all these rates are excluding the 3% GST

So I just purchased 0.5gm gold coin of malabar from Swiggy instamart and I had a few questions regarding it

1. I've read malabar offers 2% deduction on gold coin but I wanted to know what will I get if I sell in tanishq?

2. if I sell it in tanishq will they one the certicard and then verify the purity or they will take it as it is?

3. The certicard is a bit out of its alignment very minor but is it okay or is it considered tampered?
