Nursing Program

Has anybody heard back from the nursing directors or gotten accepted into the program for Spring 2027? I’m extremely nervous 😭

Are there any students here who applied for the next cohort? If so, how many points did you have overall?

22F looking for friends to yap and play video games

Hello! I’m getting a little bored of the same routine and would love to connect with more girlies! 🫶

I love video games, horror stuff and having those random deep/meaningful conversations about literally anything

I don’t have a PS5 or XBOX but I play on PC, switch , and DS! Some of the games I play the most are Overwatch, Overcooked, Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life, Roblox, R.E.P.O., peak, Minecraft, FNAF, DBD just to name a few! I’m down to play pretty much anything as long as my PC can run it. 😅

I’m a little shy at first, but once I get comfortable, I open up a lot! I’m also really into horror, anime, listening to music, watching shows and just living a whimsical life 💗
Feel free to DM me! I’d love to meet some new girlies and get to know you! :)

What are my chances of getting into SoCal ADN programs?

I’m finally done with my prereqs and I just took the TEAS. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the score I wanted, but I still passed on my first attempt.

This will be my first time applying to ADN programs

My stats:
3.6 science
3.5 cum gpa
83.3% TEAS
250 hospital volunteer hours
Bilingual
Low-income and first gen
2 associate degrees
I’ve taken many healthcare-related courses since I don’t have any healthcare work experience. I’m currently taking a phlebotomy course to get my license, but unfortunately I won’t finish in time to include it in my applications.

I’m planning to apply to most community colleges in the LA county. I know it’s extremely competitive here and I know my stats aren’t the best, but I’m not sure what else I can do. I can’t afford to go out of state or attend a private school. If I retake the TEAS, I won’t be able to apply to as many schools and I feel like 14 days is a pretty short amount of time to improve my score from an 83.3% to a 90%.
Any advice? Would you retake the TEAS or apply with the 83.3%?

I passed!!

I still can’t believe it. I genuinely thought I was going to fail 😭 I could’ve done better, but I ran out of time and some of the questions were weirdly worded. I’m not sure if I should retake it since the schools I’m applying to are competitive, but I wouldn’t be able to apply to as many schools as I want if I retake it. What y’all recommend?
This was my 1st attempt btw

First time taking the TEAS

I’m taking the TEAS this weekend and I’m nervousss

Do we have a limit on how many questions we can flag per section?

For the math section, I know we’re allowed to use a piece of scratch paper. My concern is that the camera might flag me for looking down at the paper. I’m really terrible at math, so I need to work through the questions and write things down, but I don’t want it to look like I’m doing something wrong. Has anyone had any issues with this?

Also, for anyone who has taken the exam this month, how were the questions for each section? Were they similar to the ATI practice tests or the practice questions you found online?

Which TEAS prep app is the best?

Hey everyone,
I take my exam in 3 weeks and I was wondering if anybody has tried any of these apps and which one you think is the best. I really liked the one with the dark blue icon, but I’m just not sure how accurate the questions are. I’ve read mixed opinions about the official ATI app. Any recommendations?

Is ChatGPT good for practice questions?

Hey everyone, I’ve been studying nonstop for the exam since I have it scheduled for the end of next month and I’m hoping for a 90%

I’ve always struggled a lot with math, so that’s been my main focus because I honestly can’t remember much from high school. I’ve been asking chat to give me practice questions on the topics I struggle with and somehow it’s helped me understand them better. I keep doing practice problems until I feel comfortable and confident solving them.
I don’t use a specific prompt I just ask for easy, medium and then hard questions.
I’m just wondering if anyone who passed with a high score used chat for practice questions. Thanks!

How to start manifesting effectively?

I don’t have a lot of experience with manifestation, although I have manifested things in the past. However, when it comes to manifesting an sp, I haven’t had much success. I’ve tried positive affirmations, journaling, listening to manifestation music and practicing the law of assumption, but nothing ever really happened besides one brief interaction.

For some reason, I have a deep feeling that this person and I will be together in the future, but I’m not sure how to approach manifestation in a healthy and effective way. I would love for this person to make a move but I don’t want to become overly attached to the outcome.

What manifestation methods have worked best for you guys? How should I approach manifestation? Share ur experiences and success stories!

How cooked am I for Socal ADN programs? 😭

I’m feeling really discouraged about applying right now. I did my best in micro and got A’s on all my lecture exams, but I didn’t do as well in lab (passed with a B) and my final weighted grade ended up being an 88.90 (a B). I also have an A in physiology and a C in anatomy. I’m planning to retake anatomy, but I’m not sure if schools in socal will consider my improved grade since I technically passed the first time.

I currently have 3.3 science gpa and 3.4 cum. I haven’t taken the TEAS yet, but I do have over 200 volunteer hours, I’m bilingual and a 1st gen college student. My top choices are LBCC and Rio Hondo

Preparing for the TEAS

Hi everyone! I can’t believe I’m finally done with my prereqs 😭 I just need to retake Anatomy during the summer for a better grade. I plan to study for the TEAS for about 2 months and start applying to nursing programs in the fall.

What should I expect on the TEAS and what resources would you recommend for studying? I already bought the book and plan on getting the study guide package from the ATI website.

I’m really hoping to score a 90%!!

SoCal ADN programs question

Hi everyone, I just wanted some advice from people who got admitted into ADN programs here in SoCal, especially at LBCC, Cerritos, Rio hondo

I’m honestly afraid I won’t get into those two programs because of my GPA. For my science prerequisites, I have an A in physio and I currently have an A in micro, but I still need to take the final so hopefully I can keep the A. I got a C in Anatomy, but I’m thinking about retaking it during the summer. However, I reached out to a counselor and didn’t really get a clear answer on whether retaking it would be worth it.

For anyone who applied to those schools and retook a science prerequisite for a better grade, did they accept your highest grade or the first passing grade?

I also got a C in stats and I’m thinking about retaking it to boost my overall GPA but I’m not sure :(

Thank you!

Hi, I’m looking for advice on how to improve my English speaking skills. For context, I moved to the US almost four years ago. I didn’t learn English in a traditional way I kind of learned it quickly because I wanted to get into college. I’ve taken some ESL classes here and there, but I don’t feel like I fully learned how to speak it confidently. Most of what I know comes from watching content in English and training my ear that way.

I understand the language well and can write it, but I struggle when it comes to speaking. I’ve noticed that I lack confidence and even when I know the words, they don’t come out naturally. I tend to overthink what I’m saying or feel like I need to double check myself. At home, none of my family members speak English, so I don’t really have anyone to practice with. The only times I speak English are at school, work or when I’m with my cousins.

I don’t usually translate in my head anymore, but sometimes I feel like my brain gets mixed up with Spanish. I do practice by speaking to myself and when I do that I sound fluent. However, when I talk to other people, I tend to freeze. I’m planning to go into healthcare, so I really want to improve my confidence when speaking English. I also would like to get rid of my accent but don’t think it’s possible it’s not super noticeable but I wish I sounded more like a native English speaker lol

Does anyone have advice on how I can improve in a short amount of time? I would really appreciate any tips. Thank you!
