I was initially a bit hesitant to post a review for The Approved Affair by Riteeka because it centers heavily on a modern open marriage theme, which can be a controversial subject. Ultimately, though, I decided I had to share my thoughts because the writing simply won me over.

The language in this book is gorgeous. Author has a real talent for writing love-making scenes that are highly descriptive without ever feeling cheap or crossing into being overly explicit. Honestly, it has been a long time since I’ve found such high-quality smut that is this well-crafted and enjoyable to read.

Another huge plus was the inclusion of an image in each chapter, which was a unique touch that really enhanced the overall reading experience and immersion.

What truly stood out to me was the narrative voice. During my entire read, it felt like I was having a conversation with the narrator, as if she were personally sharing her story with me.

The author claims that the book is based on the real story of a woman. I'm a bit sceptical of that and find myself disagreeing, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Real story or pure fiction, I thoroughly enjoyed the book from start to finish.

I went into Love, Theoretically expecting a cute romance, but it ended up being much more than that. Ali Hazelwood balances humor, romance, and academic life in a way that keeps the story engaging from beginning to end.

Elsie is such a relatable protagonist. She's intelligent, awkward, and constantly trying to please everyone around her, which makes her growth throughout the book feel genuine. Jack, on the other hand, is the kind of love interest who seems intimidating at first but slowly reveals a softer, caring side. Their chemistry builds naturally, and the banter between them is easily one of the best parts of the book.

What I liked most is that the romance isn't rushed. It takes time for the characters to understand each other, and that slow build makes the emotional moments much more satisfying. The academic setting also adds something different instead of feeling like just another romance novel.

The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is that some parts in the middle felt a little repetitive, especially the misunderstandings. But once the story picks up again, it's hard to put the book down.

Overall, Love, Theoretically is a sweet, funny, and emotionally satisfying romance with memorable characters and plenty of witty moments. If you enjoy slow-burn romances, smart female leads, and lots of chemistry without unnecessary drama, this one is definitely worth reading.
