How is my laptop for some light gaming? Is this also a good eGPU candidate?
CPU seems like it would pair great with an eGPU. It’s a Dell Precision 5490 and has thunderbolt 4, so it’s possible.

Also have some misc PC parts if anyone wants to work out a trade. Have notable items such as ddr4-3200 laptop ram, 7th-9th gen i5 CPUs, some sata HDDs and SSDs.
This is Maverick! He’s 5. He’s been doing this for as long as I can remember, but I never thought to ask until now. I lay his blanket out flat and he doesn’t touch it, but when I go to move it he starts doing this! He will then do this for 5-10 minutes and just leave it balled up until I lay it out flat again.
What a fun color! Was using wave + as my EDC but I never used probably 75% of its tools. This one is awesome.
I've been holding this 3060 as a backup but I'm ready to let it go now. This is in extremely good condition. Comes with original box. Purchased brand new on Feb 11, 2024. Used for a solid year for 1080p gaming paired with my Ryzen 5 5500, in a non-smoking household. Have since then upgraded to a 5600X and 5060ti 16gb.

No, it’s not in a big city where rent is like $2k a month. Cost of living isn’t too bad. It just feels low-ish, but I don’t really know given this is my first job.
Seller said they dropped it. They took it to our local repair shop (which has a very bad rep) and they told him the motherboard is fried (??). There’s no physical damage on the laptop anywhere and the seller said they didn’t drop it from high up. As an IT Technician I fix laptops all the time, so for me it’s worth $150 to gamble on something like this. Who knows, maybe a connector or the ram was just knocked loose when it was dropped. Eager to get home and get this open, I’ll post an update when I find out.
Update 1:
Definitely not a simple fix. No signs of life when I plug it in through the barrel or usb c. Tried both with and without battery plugged in. Also tried unseating the sodimm ram to see if it would boot from just soldered. Not giving up yet, but might have to do a full disassembly.
Got it from an org that called it ewaste. Verified all of it was working. Their loss! Problem is, I don’t have a laptop to use them in. I’m either looking to sell all of this so I can buy desktop ram, or trade this for desktop ram. Ideally a 1:1 trade. If you have 128gb ddr4-3200 desktop ram, then I’ll trade it to you for 128gb ddr4-3200 laptop ram! I can provide timestamp pics when I get home, but for now here’s a pic of one of the sticks.
I can ship to anywhere in the US. I only accept PayPal as a valid form of payment.
So I’ve acquired 128gb ddr4-3200 from an org that was calling it ewaste. Their loss. So now I need a laptop to use it in. Ideally something with a GPU that has 8gb vram but 6gb is ok too. I guess at least an rtx 3050. Looking to buy second hand, can’t afford new prices.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with stock cooler
Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A II Micro ATX AM4
Memory: 2x kits of Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 (so 32gb total)
Storage: TEAMGROUP MP33 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD
GPU: PNY Dual Fan OC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB
Case: Zalman S3 ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply: ASRock PRO-650G 650W 80+ Gold
I bought the GPU alone for $500 a couple months ago. The majority of the PC was built 2-3 years ago when 16gb ddr4 was like $40. I put everything into pc part picker and obviously nobody is going to buy this for $1300 because these aren't new parts. What's a good price to list this for?
