Thinking of bribing a Best Buy manager, need advice.
I have a business idea exporting electronics to Southeast Asia and India (Thailand, Indonesia, India). Customs clearance and getting orders are already sorted. The bottleneck is buying the product in volume in Canada.
Example: I (and a close friend) each got an order for 100 Fitbit Airs.
• Every Best Buy in my city refused to sell more than 2 units.
• My friend in a different province somehow walked away with all 100 plus a ~19% discount.
• I later found a Montreal Best Buy (6-hour drive) that agreed to sell me 100 at full price. I negotiated a better deal by showing them my friend’s purchase receipts.
Driving 6 hours every time isn’t sustainable, and no local stores are interested. My friend no longer wants to fulfill my orders. He has a solid connection with a Best Buy manager who will sell him any quantity he wants at ~20% off (and Best Buy handles shipping).
My current crazy idea: walk into a local Best Buy, ask for the manager, and pitch them a cut — 10% of my profits ongoing + 10% upfront — in exchange for bulk access and the same kind of discount.
Anyone have a better approach? Best idea gets 5% of the profits from my first successful order.
Looking for a discount
If I buy 10 MacBooks from a retail bestbuy store, would I be stupid to ask for a discount?
What has been you guys experience.
Ps I’m in Toronto.
Need help purchasing 1,000 Fitbit Airs in Ontario, Canada
Hoping someone here has experience with bulk purchases because I’ve been getting bounced around in circles.
I’m trying to purchase 1,000 Fitbit Ace Airs in Ontario, Canada.
Here’s what’s happened so far:
I contacted Best Buy’s backend/business team, and they were honestly very unhelpful.
They told me I needed to speak with Google Sales instead.
I contacted Google Sales, and they told me they don’t handle bulk Fitbit orders and that I needed to go back to Best Buy.
So now I’m just being sent back and forth with no one actually willing to help.
What’s even more confusing is that I was able to purchase 150 units through a Best Buy in Vancouver with no issues at all, and they even gave me a discounted price of CAD $109.99 each before tax.
Has anyone in Ontario successfully placed a large Fitbit order like this? Is there a specific Best Buy business representative, distributor, wholesaler, or another retailer I should be speaking with?
Any contacts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
My BMW App Won’t Update Vehicle Status or Start Remote Climate (i4 eDrive40)
Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone here has run into this before.
I have a BMW i4 eDrive40 and the My BMW app has stopped updating the vehicle status. The app is showing the last vehicle update from earlier today, and no matter how many times I refresh, it doesn’t pull any new data.
When I try to start Remote Climate, I get the following error: (attached photo)
A few details:
Battery is at 54%
Car is parked
Nobody is inside the vehicle
Vehicle is locked
The app hasn’t received a status update from the car for several hours
Remote Climate won’t start
Not sure if Lock/Unlock commands are working because the car isn’t updating at all
Has anyone experienced this on an i4? If so, what ended up fixing it?
Thank you
