Astragalus Root

I've recently heard about Astragalus Root and how it helps with the immune system. As someone that is prone to allergies, asthma, and getting sick easily, I wanted to try it out and see if it helps. I was doing some research and I saw that you have to implement it everyday for it to work. The recommendation was to drink 2-3 cups of Astragalus Root tea a day. I'm completely fine with doing that as I like to drink tea, but I was just wondering what yalls thoughts were on drinking tea vs taking Astragalus pills. Which one do you think is better, or does it not matter?

Note: I'm new to the herbalist community and this is what I wanted to start with since my immune system is not the best. If you have any other herbalist recommendations for immune health, I would love to hear them 🙏🏾

Dark Spots After Shaving

About 4 years ago, I shaved under my neck instead of plucking like I normal do. Now I have these dark spots and they won’t go away. Recently, i’ve been using Brightening serums and a gentle exfoliating toner for a while now. But I have tried many skin care routines over the years. Some are ingrown hair bumps and some are just dark spots.

What skin care products would yall recommend to help? (Maybe a routine if necessary)

Dark spots under neck

About 4 years ago, I shaved my neck instead of plucking like I usually do. Since then these dark spots have been on my neck. They fluctuate from getting darker lighter but I can’t get them to go away. I have sensitive skin and have been trying many skin care serums but I feel like the chemicals aren’t good for my skin. Are there any herbalist remedies yall might recommend?

Is lemon ginger tea worth it?

I’m F21 and I recently started noticing that I’ve been pretty gassy and bloated. I’ve been slowly cutting down on certain foods that usually leave me feeling this way. (Like dairy and greasy foods)

I’ve been looking online to see what kind of tea might help with gut health. Multiple resources said ginger or lemon ginger (which I tend to keep in my pantry) so I wanted to incorporate drinking a cup of lemon ginger tea with my meals.

My question is somewhat threefold…

  1. Is lemon ginger tea worth it for gut health?

  2. Could drinking lemon ginger tea 3 times a day have adverse side effects?

  3. Is there a better alternative for overall gut health?

[ Idk if it matters, but I also drink green tea in the morning and sleepy time tea at night]

Is there a better label for my sexuality/relationship style? [F21]

For a few years now I’ve been identifying as asexual as an umbrella label. Over the past few months I’ve been realizing that I may only be into women and I’m just now starting to think I might be aromantic but in not sure about that one.

I’ve never really felt sexual attraction to anyone. I’ve had ‘crushes’ but I’m starting to think they may have just been friend crushes. I’ve been contemplating identifying as homoromantic demisexual, but I don’t really think that fits. I’ve never really had too much of a desire to be in a relationship other than societal pressures and knowing that eventually my friends will get into relationships and I’ll be left on the back burner.

I would kind of like a relationship, but idk how to describe it. Something like friends who sometimes kiss and maybe have sex but we’re still just friends. Every time I try to explain it, it sounds like I just have commitment issues. But to me those things don’t necessarily correlate with attraction, it’s just for fun. Idk how to label the kind of relationship I want so I can explain to other people. Please help🙏🏾

[For context, I’ve never been in a relationship I’ve never been in a relationship before because I don’t wanna hurt someone if I don’t have ‘feelings’ for them fr]

Are dating apps really worth it for Acespec people? [F21]

I’ve recently been coming to terms with being Ace spec, probably homo romantic. I was using dating apps before but the conversations would turn sexual and I’d get the ick. (I was also struggling with comphet so I was talking to men)

Now that I’ve come to terms with my sexuality, I downloaded hinge again but I can tell it’s not really what I’m looking for. I guess what I’m looking for is more of a romantic relationship where sex isn’t that big of a deal, but I have no idea how to find anyone wants that as well

I’ve felt so disconnected from my friends when it comes to relationships but I’m still trying to put myself out there. I can tell there’s something I want that’s more than a friend and less than what most people would consider a relationship. All that to say, idk if staying on dating apps is worth it or if I should just give up on finding a partner since I can’t seem to find someone in my area who wants the same thing as me when it comes to relationships.

[F 21] Is being lesbian and asexual even a thing?

For the past few years I’ve been identifying as unlabeled but if someone really wanted to know I’d say I was Bi. I recently (within the last year or two) came across the asexual spectrum and dug into it a bit and started to feel like I may be more demisexual.

I’m starting to think that me being attracted to men has probably just been comphet and I’m really just more attracted to women and feminine presenting people, though I’m still pretty confident that I’m on the asexual spectrum.

The thing is, if I told that to anyone I feel like they’d take that as me being lesbian. And the few people I have told that I am asexual just kind of give me blank stares like it doesn’t make sense (but that’s a whole other story) I don’t necessarily feel sexual attraction to women like other lesbian people I’ve met and I feel like maybe I’m not lesbian but some other sexuality I haven’t heard of. I don’t really know if you can be lesbian and asexual or what it would be called if someone was.
