Today's mail call

Signed by Seth Mann. The signed poker chip was a cool addition also.

Blind bags + autograph signing + awesome freebie = a great weekend haul

My weekend started at my main LCS to pick up some books and a few blind bags, then to another LCS this morning for a discussion panel and autograph signing w/Dan Watters, ending with another trip back to my LCS for a freebie from a fellow collector/new friend (that blind bag Rom #1). Today was truly a good day. 😉

Nice little pickup

At my LCS earlier, when I saw one of the staff going through a box that someone had recently brought in and sold to the owner. Mostly horror comics, but I couldn't pass up on these...my top three favorite franchises of the genre. The owner even let me get them for a steal. SWEET!!!

Rafael Albuquerque!

One of my LCS had Rafael Albuquerque for a free panel discussion and signing yesterday. I definitely couldn't pass up on that. His people told me that they're working on finalizing an appearance at Baltimore Comic Con in September. I'm definitely looking forward to that one too, since he didn't have time to do a sketch for my blank cover variant. That line was still wrapped around the building when I left. I'm super hyped to see Pornsak next month at HeroesCon, to get his sigs on these AGA's also.

Mail Call!

I forgot to post this one last week. I love this [James] Stokoe cover for AB #20. One of my faves to date.

Grader had a bad day?!?!?

I don't know what he/she saw, but clearly no such "light scuffing back cover" was on the book that I packaged and sent in. Oh well, that's the gamble, I suppose, when other people has to handle your property before the grader gets to it. SMDH.

First, Jock knows he could/should have put his sig above Snyder's "HA". I'm just saying. Lol. Secondly, I KNOW with a 1,000% certainty that there was no "crunch" (grader's notes) on that back right corner! I thoroughly inspect all my books before packaging and shipping to CGC, which tells me that it was either rough handled during the signings, or someone dropped my book before the grader got to it. In any event, that sucks. I guess that's part and parcel of submitting for grading though.

Today's FCBD started with me heading out at 6:30 am, to be first in line for a 10 am signing by David Finch at one LCS, then the owner of my main LCS had this AB #1 WIP for me. Guess I'll be heading to Charlotte for HeroesCon next month for sure now, since Snyder and Dragotta are both supposed to be there. How'd the rest of you guys and gals make out today?

The owner had this for me. Since he didn't have a toploader for it, I went to Michael's and bought a frame. Guess I'll be going to HeroesCon in Charlotte next month for sure now, since both Snyder and Dragotta are supposed to be there.

Now I can't wait to get my signed Skottie Young connecting covers for Absolute Batman #20.
