Where can I find good congee near the Seaport / financial district?

Hiya. My stomach’s been weird lately and I’d like to start trying congee. Are there any places near the Seaport or financial district that you’d recommend?

I’m aware Chinatown is right there but walking distance is a factor; it’d be easier to get into Two Bridges during lunch. Definitely open to Chinatown recs though.

I’m aware that it’s sort of easy to make but would like to try some first to have a good baseline to compare my attempts to.

Has anyone been rejected from other doctors because of the naltrexone prescription?

I was prescribed LDN by a chronic fatigue / lymes disease doctor at Mass General a year after getting long covid and 6 years after getting MCAS + ME/CFS. Been on it for three.

I recently reached out to a local psych/therapy office to get back on ADHD meds. Their website says that they treat and manage/prescribe medication related to insomnia, anxiety, depression, adhd, ocd, ptsd, pms — all the common issues.

On the intake form I listed adhd, insomnia, and anxiety as my issues and listed the prescriptions I’ve used in the past for them, all of which were standard and common.

I was scheduled for tomorrow until I suddenly received a rejection email from them saying that my medical requirements went beyond what they provide. They won’t respond to my inquiry as to why.

My only thought is that maybe they accessed some shared portal online that my PCP uses and saw the LDN and thought I was on regular naltrexone for opiate use?

Something like this happened once before — I was at urgent care with COVID and when I told the nurse practitioner I was on LDN (at .3 mg) she just heard naltrexone, got cold, and told the doctor I was a drug addict. She said naltrexone was only prescribed for addiction and quite obviously didn’t believe me that it was for CFS.

That’s been the only time I’ve had issues in nearly three years but I don’t know what it looks like behind the scenes. Is there some kind of background check that naltrexone prescriptions get entered into? Or am I being paranoid?

What is better for bulk soil bag delivery in nyc: amazon or home depot?

Hey there gardeners, I’m ordering 30-50 bags of soil to a location in the Bronx and have a few supplier options to choose from. I have never had reason to order this much soil before and am not sure which route to go.

My first thought is home depot because I can’t imagine a regular amazon delivery person being thrilled about pallets of soil, if they even ship them with pallets. I suspect Amazon is better for delivery scheduling however.

I’ve always liked the bagels from black seed because of the way they’re toasted and the cream cheese isn’t melted. I wanted to cry eating this, it was so good

I would avoid if celiac because of cross contamination (they’re a normal bagel chain) but if you’re not sensitive to it I’d recommend them because the lines are also a bit shorter than modern bread.

Realized my last two posts here were about negative experiences in my city so I wanted to share some of the dozens of good gf options we have!

If you’re in the mood for a fancy brunch the pancakes at The Commerce Inn are gluten free but not advertised as such. They’re cooked on a dedicated surface so no cross contamination. They were very fluffy and rich, would recommend!

Not sure why it cost $20 for an uncooked, bitter, and cold bagel but now you know! They don’t list the prices until you get to the register either. There’s some decent gf bagels in the city but Liberty is not it.

however the lox + caper cream cheese was great and I scraped it off the cement plate of a bagel like a weird little rat in the park
