Honda Acty 1997 truck cutting out

Thinking of buying this truck. Seller sent me this, it seems to cut out shortly after ignition. Any advice to what might be at fault is appreciated, also if it's worth buying at all. It's at a fairly good price at the moment.

Thanks

Would you buy a non runner?

Have the option to buy a 1995 acty sold as seen. Looks like it's not particularly corroded and is otherwise in good condition but apparently only recently stopped firing up on the turn of the key. I have seen video of it running up until spring but now apparently it isn't. The seller reports that it could be something simple such as a fuel cut relay and that it was idling with high revs prior to this.

Would you go for it? It's at a pretty fair price

Ultimate domestic utility vehicle

Hi, Looking for advice on something to use to complete a load of projects and ideally keep for a while too. Budget is absolutely max €5000 and preferably also needs to be able to double up as a runaround and not look absolutely garish on the driveway, that I can keep road worthy with minimal effort

It won't do loads of miles but naturally that would be ideal to have on a cheaper tax rate as well as simple to insure. Needs to be able to haul tip runs, diy projects, soil/aggregate and other garden junk/Facebook marketplace impulse purchases and not explode/become a rusted pile of rubbish in a year or two.

My shortlist is:

1990s kei truck

L200/hilux if I can pick one up that isn't a rust bucket

Decent trailer (not an ideal runaround)

Old van (not sure good models)

Any suggestions would be ideal.

Thoughts on this Suzuki carry

Hi folks,

Back with another potential buy. 1991 Suzuki carry with 50000km. Costing about 3500-4000€ at the moment. No roadworthy test but is registered on local plates.

Thoughts on this as a purchase? Pretty badly corroded from what I can tell

Is this a good base for a project?

I know not technically a kei truck, but this 2007 Piaggio Porter is similar to a daihatsu hijet from what I'm led to believe. It's rear wheel drive, 100k miles and has a tipper. At present it's rested as roadworthy until Feb 2027. It's priced very reasonably but will be very hard to get to for me to rest and inspect.

Am I wasting my time?

Am I kidding myself?

Selling a VW Passat estate on donedeal at a the lowest price available for it's year. Fairly good milage 210km, 2017. 2l engine, all the photos look good with long NCT. Some patchy service history although a fair bit of it is there.

I have had absolutely no interest whatsoever, none. Few hundred views and low single digit saves and one person basically openly trying to scam me. Am I absolutely delusional that it'll sell? Or am I just pricing it too high when comparing to dealerships offering trade in/ warranty?

I contacted dealerships regarding trade in and they generally offered me 50- 60% of the asking price.

Have I just completely misunderstood the market? Do I need to put the price way down to tempt people to a private sale over a dealership? Or should I just be patient?

Post edited: got trolled online for something before so had posted that it's a slightly different car. It's actually Passat of same year mileage etc. just didn't expect so much helpful reply so thanks.

Any help welcomed

EV banger maths

I'm going to get a secondhand EV for a commuter car with the plan to mostly charge at home. Thinking a leaf, ioniq or zoe

Is there any kind of consensus when considering the following options:

  1. €8000-€10000 range with a year or so battery warranty left, probably 2018-2020 if I'm lucky

-eg ionic or gen 2 leaf

  1. €3500-€5000 banger with no battery warranty but as good a SOH as possible.

-eg gen 1 leaf

I'm working on the assumption that after 3-4 more years driving that the resale value on both will be pretty poor, so is there any point in option 1 outside of potentially longer range and (slightly) newer tech? With service and care presumably there isn't much in the lifespan
