Can I pump right after baby is born? Advice on getting milk to come in?

Hi, I EP’d for a year with my daughter. It wasn’t my plan but she was born premature, so she couldn’t latch. In the hospital they gave me the pump but I could never remove the sticky colostrum well with the pump so I was manually expressing with my hands and it hurt so badly from what I remember. My boobs were literally bruised blue. Once my milk supply started coming in I used the hospital pump until I went home.

Eventually when my daughter came home we tired to latch and I honestly never liked it. To me it always hurt way worse than the pump. Pumping worked better with my job and let my husband help feed too which gave me a break here and there

Now I’m pregnant again and really just want to pump from the get go. Do I tell the nurse that in the hospital? Just say I don’t really want to latch just go straight to pumping/bottle?

I don’t know how it really works with a regular term baby!

Co sleep with my 13 month old, expecting another baby. Now what?

Do I transition to a crib? Toddler bed? She’ll be 20 months old when baby comes.

Co sleeping works so great for us right now. She wakes up a few times during the night and I’m able to snuggle her and pat her and she’s back to sleep quickly.

My sweet husband sleeps downstairs in a seperate bed since I prefer to just co sleep with the baby for safety. We’ve thought about just having my older daughter sleep with him in the other bedroom once the baby comes and I’ll keep the newborn since we don’t want the baby to wake up my toddler

Just hoping someone who’s had 2 kids knows what to do here and can give me advice because I’m at a loss for a solution and my friends and family are always so against co sleeping and tell me i wouldn’t have this problem if I had just crib trained from the start 🙄

I’m a SAHM with a one year old, it’s so hard for me to find childcare to make some of my appointments.

My husbands job makes it impossible for him to take certain days off

I’ve been able to get my parents to move their schedule around a bit to help for ultrasounds but they also work full time.

Just wondering if anyone has been in my shoes and had to take their kids to appointments.

I don’t want to but I truly have no choice some times

I remember with my daughter the Doppler appointments weren’t that long or involved either. More like height weight listen to baby measure fundal height and I was out the door..

Wondering if I put her in the stroller with some snacks or something that would be okay

Hey everyone, I’m 7 weeks and last night I woke up basically projectile vomiting. At first I thought it was bad morning sickness but then everything started coming out both ways.

Obviously my main concern is the baby, should everything be okay? Should I reach out to my OGBYN?

Just nervous since the pregnancy is so early

Hi everyone, I’ve been in hair for almost 8 years now. I love my salon and co workers

But I just found out I’m pregnant again (not planned, big surprise) and this will be 2 under 2

My family is young and we are struggling with me working a lot of weekends evenings and holidays(halloween, Labor Day weekend, Mother’s Day) I feel sad missing these moments with my child

We are also struggling with childcare. My husband is at a really pivotal time in his career. He’s supportive of my career but truthfully he makes 3x what I do. Financially it makes the most sense for me to step away

This past winter my daughter was always sick and it was us having to take turns calling off since daycare wouldn’t take her while sick. My boss was mad, his was mad. It was a nightmare

I would like to probably take the next few years off and be a SAHM.

I’m just scared in a few years what that looks like. Will a salon hire me with a gap under my belt?

I know I will have to start from scratch client wise and rebuild. And I’m ok with that.

I just need to decide what’s best for my family!
