My carpet hurts me but I'm not ready to replace it. Possible solutions?

I just bought a house in March. The carpets seemed fine when we move in, but now I've noticed when I kneel down or am sitting on it, it hurts. I have a toddler (and no money), so I don't want to replace them yet. Is there any solution other than getting an area rug to cover the area? It's not because the carpet is too thin. The pain isn't from pressure. It feels like the actual fibers of the carpet are pricking me. It's very unpleasant, and I can only imagine how my toddler feels.

Upskirt photo at work. Should I get police involved?

Update: Hello all, thank you so much for everyone's encouragement. I wished I had better news. I did decided to go forward with reporting. My head of security said that they have the video of the incident they did catch on camera that was not me to give to the police, so I can direct them to call him after I file the police report.

I called police, and they are doing nothing. They said because there is no proof and not 100% certainty, they will not do anything unless the person who was assaulted on camera wants to come forward. They did not take my name. They did not take my number. They were apologetic but was clear a report would not be filed. I can only hope that the victim that was caught on camera reports. I had a nice cry and was appropriately outraged with my colleagues, but now it's time to move on.

Original post:

I work in a library and recently had an incident where a patron very likely took a picture up my dress when I bent over to get a book for him. Come to find out that other women in the library have come forward with similar experiences with this patron. The library has handled it great and has been nothing but validating and has since permanently banned him.

The problem I'm having is whether to get police involved. The library has been very clear that if I go to the police they would support me and help provide anything I need. The incident was not caught on camera, but another incident (not a photo but touching staff inappropriately) was. We have a photo but no name.

On one hand, he very clearly does this a lot. He easily found the cameras (screwed up on one). He knew to pull staff away from public eyes. So he probably does this a lot. I don't want others to be his victim, and I'm mad he'll just get away with it.

On the other hand, is it wrong to want to be selfish? I'm not sure I have the energy or bandwidth to pursue this. What would that mean for me? Would I have to go to court? Should I call non emergency to ask how I would pursue this?

Any advice would be great. Thank you.

At home daycare vs centers. At home daycare perspective and advice needed.

My daughter (15 month) is currently at a center 2 days a week, and I love the center, but it's gotten so expensive so I started looking at at home daycare. I found one that is 5 minutes from my house, significantly cheaper, and through sheer fate my SIL and her BIL and SIL have used this caregiver in the past. On paper, there's so many reasons to switch, and it's great that it's someone my SIL trusts. But I can't let go of this hesitation and anxiety and I can't tell if it's me or what.

Things I really like about the center that I wouldn't get at the at home daycare: more teachers, a familiar environment, more learning based care, more kids her age, cameras, instant updates such as photos and videos and logs, and it's simply the devil you know

The only positive I can think of to switch to in home daycare is that it's cheaper and we can add an additional day of childcare so my husband doesn't have to work from home every other Friday due to my scheduling. We can afford the cost of the center, but I'm just thinking about us wanting a second and how we could ever afford two at these prices. We could hold off until we have a second, but at the same time, she's still pretty young and changing now seems easier than when she starts forming friendships.

I was hoping to hear from people's own experience or if I'm overlooking something either positive or negative about daycares. Thanks!
