I want to break into freelancing and land my first paying client within 3 months. I can go full-time on this — about 8 hours a day — so I'm looking for a skill that's realistic to learn fast and actually in demand.

I'm comfortable with computers and open to writing, design, marketing, or technical work — no strong preference yet. My main goal is consistent income.

If you've gone from zero to your first client in a few months, I'd love to know:

1. What skill did you learn, and how?
2. Where did you find your first client?
3. What would you do differently if you started today?

Hey everyone,

I recently opened a Preply account to teach the Egyptian Arabic dialect and Quran. It was active for about 18 days, but I didn't get any students during that time. Honestly, I got a bit discouraged and deleted the account.

Looking back, I realize I want to teach Biology instead. It’s the subject I’m truly passionate about, excel at, and genuinely enjoy teaching to others.

I want to create a new account to apply as a Biology tutor, but I have two main questions:

1. Approval/Policy: Will Preply reject my new application because I previously had an account under the same name/email, even though I deleted it?
2. Subject Demand: How is the demand for Biology on Preply? Is it a good platform for school/science subjects, or is it heavily dominated by languages?

Would love to hear from anyone who has switched subjects or reopened a deleted account. Thanks in advance for the help!

Asalamu alikum. I am an Egyptian muslim and hafiz of the holy Quran alhamdullah. I am willing to teach you tajweed and help you memorize quran in private sessions. I am not perfect but i think with time we will grow and i will learn how to teach non Arabic speakers perfectly.

محتاج نصيحتكو يرجالة. دلوقتي انا ٢٢ سنة في كلية طب ومعنديش جيش وبفكر اخد خطوة الخطوبة.ان عندي شقة متشطبة الحمدلله وجزء من الدهب مش كامل يعني واتقبلت في شغل كول سنتر بمرتب ١٩ الف. فبفكر اشتغل ٥ شهور ولا حاجة واخطب ان شاء الله . اه ونقطة كمان بتعلم data analysis عشان مش هينفع اكمل في الكول سنتر طول الوقت. تنصحوني اخد الخطوة ولا اي
