Thanks everyone for the help, I think I understand what's happening now. Original post follows:

New player here. The wiki says there are 14.5 hours of daylight in the game, but when it gets dark I go to bed and sleep for 12 hours and when I wake up it's still pitch black outside every time. Is the wiki wrong? How many hours of daylight are there really, and what are you supposed to do early game without light? Can't read, can't explore outside because I can't see and I freeze to death in no time at night, and can't sleep because of the 12 hour limit.

So I just discovered the redout games. Got to say I absolutely love the control scheme these games use, with one stick doing turn and the other strafe. It's probably blasphemy here but I never really liked the air braking system on the wipeout games. This is much better.

Anyway, I saw a post from years ago saying there are secret platinum medals for each event with harder requirements than the gold medal. I couldn't find anything else about this and wasn't sure whether the poster was joking. Can anyone confirm whether this is true?

Also why does the difficulty setting not affect time trials and other non-race events? That's a weird design choice isn't it?

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I select the horde but when I try to send them to a destination it's like the button press just doesn't register.

I've just started the game and I'm already stuck. I've reached the very first save station, haven't even seen an enemy yet. There's a door I can't go through and a fuse box that needs two fuses, presumably it opens the door, but I can only find one fuse. I've looked everywhere! Help?

I did everything in the game and the conspiracy theory on the library computer was the closest thing to an explanation for what is actually happening. And considering even the religious texts say that "god" is currently licking his wounds in the Sirius system... maybe the nutjob is right?

1. Boy heard Faye in the light of Alfheim and dad "saw" her in there too, so how is she not there? Bad writing (again) or do you think this will end up making sense?

2. Is the mask something to do with Odin's mask? Faye seemed to know something about it.

3. Red man said it's difficult to die, and my brain immediately thought "Roguelike". Do you think, maybe......?
