have been in my basement for decades.

picked this F1000 up a couple of months ago. tucked in the corner of a garage and not ridden for decades.

always liked the polished aluminum Cannondale's so it was a lock, came home with me. plan was clean it up, no mods and spend my 71st year on earth cruising the neighborhood and local bike paths.

first thing was spending time cleaning it up including hours polishing the frame. the CANNONDALE down tube decals were a bit torn up so removed those with a heat gun and applied new ones after i got her all polished up. little lubrication, new tires were all i did mechanically, the bike had great bones.

think i'm done with it for the time being and just enjoy the ride.

and yes the HeadShock working perfectly including the lock out.

Tax stamp today for the Tac13.
And bought a new, unfired Ithaca M37 DSPS from 1980.

Got her down off the hook since I’ve been messing around with a couple of other vintage mounts for the past couple of months. Was gonna give her a quick bath then offer it up on facebook marketplace.
Rode it around the block then started cleaning it followed by a little overdue minor servicing. Used some rubbing compound on the painted bits followed by some carnauba wax. Damn you look good. Rode it around all morning off and on. Nope still a keeper.

Got the old girl down and thought about listing it on facebook. Took her for a ride and reinforced why it sticks around. Exage Mountain 7 speed with thumbies, steel is real. Like meeting up with an old friend you haven’t seen in a while.
