I’m new to the competitive side of side games

So I know little to nothing about the fighting game community and about most fighting games. I’ve always them off and on. Recently I went to Evo and I found myself drawn to pursue playing more competitively. That being said I felt bad not knowing about many big names or about game knowledge. I don’t watch twitch or anything like that but is there anyway I can do research on the lore behind the FGC and the people that make it up or have stood out along with having some knowledge about former fighters to make more friends and have a deeper discussion?

Modifying Hori Fighstick Alpha PS Version

I’ve had this fight stick for a bit and have been deciding on modifying it. I’ve never modified one before and was just wanting to make it quieter since I live in a house with thin walls. For the buttons I was thinking about the Qanba Gravity KS or gamer finger buttons. For the stick itself I didn’t want it completely quiet as I still want to hear a bit of noise to register the movement via noise if that makes sense? And is the ball joystick or bat joystick better for fighting games ? I’m currently playing SF6, GGS, and GBFVR. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated thank you!

Evo vegas 2026

Hello everyone! I’m going to be going to Evo for the first time and competing. Not sure who all is going but was wanting to extend an invitation if anyone wants to meet up and practice some sets before then. I’ll be heading there on the 24th. Not sure how often people do stuff like this but wanted to try something new. I hope the best of luck to all that do end up going.

So I am planning on running curse of Strahd with 4 friends. I am adding some bloodborne home brew to the game. Two of them have some experience with dnd and pathfinder and the other two have a pretty good background on both. I was thinking of implementing an RPG element where they can add any of the npc allies from the card reading but have a limited amount of how many they can recruit. I was thinking maybe 3-4. For those who have DM’d what are your thoughts and opinions?
