Looking for Bones

Hello!

I’m an artist who uses bones for crafts and jewelry. I’m interested in any bones from animals that can be legally collected. This includes cattle / cows, horses, ponies, donkeys, mules, sheep, goats, pigs / swine, alpacas, llamas, chickens, ducks, geese, domestic turkeys, domestic rabbits, domestic dogs, and domestic cats.

I'm hoping to find bones that are free or low cost. If you have any available or know someone who might, please send me a message. I am willing to drive to cities near Youngstown such as Boardman, Austintown, Girard, Warren, Niles, etc.

Thanks for reading!

Writing a novel…I know I know

I saw A LOT of these posts on here about writing novels and after reading through the comments, I feel pretty discouraged. Quite a few people said they prefer someone who isn’t Navajo not to write a Navajo character at all and I’d like to get other’s opinion.

MY story is a thriller based in Arizona following a group of kids. I was trying to keep the diversity of Arizona in mind while creating my characters, and thus I decided to add a mixed Navajo character. And after doing my research I began a quick sketch before I realized I should see if other people have discussed adding Native American characters to their stories while not being native.

I actually saw quite a few comments asking people not to write these characters even if their race isn’t a central part of the story.

So here I am asking if that’s really the consensus. Should I keep this character or should I scrap him altogether?

Moving to Girard

Hello! I’m going to school in Youngstown and getting an apartment in Girard. I’d love to know more about the city before I go! All I’ve been told so far is that people get tickets for speeding often. I also heard there is a giant arcade? Please let me know of any places I should visit and what the community is like!

Thank you!!

Serious need for an apartment.

Hello, I’m moving to Youngstown very soon for school and I’m struggling to find an apartment. I’ve reached out to maybe fifty but they all are not available till at least October and I need to be fully moved in by early September. I have one roommate I’m looking to move with.

Any advice or hidden gems I can look into?

Would it be weird to reach out/introduce myself to other students before school starts?

For context, i’m going to a small trade school in a rural area. We have an online roommate list which everyone is leaving their numbers on. i’ve already found a roommate using the list, but I’ve been wondering if I should reach out to everyone else and just say hello.

Please let me know if this would be a weird thing to do or if I’m just overthinking it. 🙏

How would you react to a cryptid in person?

I always wondered what I’d do if I met Bigfoot in the woods one day while hiking (I’d probably run). If I had a moment to collect myself, and it was friendly, I imagine it could be a very interesting encounter. I’d love to befriend it. With other more commonly known violent cryptids, I would not approach.

I was curious what others reactions would be to various cryptids. Would you try and feed it, alert authorities, befriend it, run, etc?

Please let me know! This has been a huge debate in my friend group.

How would you react to meeting different cryptid?

I always wondered what I’d do if I met Bigfoot in the woods one day while hiking (I’d probably run). If I had a moment to collect myself, and it was friendly, I imagine it could be a very interesting encounter. Opposed to coming across a Snallygaster, which would likely end up as a much more violent meet.

Writing a story about cryptids, what should I add or get rid of?

Hello all! I’d like to start working on a new story based mainly around cryptids. Think monster high/the 100

my requirements were that they are actual traditional cryptids, and have had a recent sighting (within the last hundred years or so).

Below is the list I have so far. i’ve only done very big research and had not done much of a deep dive in most of these. If any of these do not match the requirements I set for myself please let me know, and if you have any ideas of what I should add, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Abominable Snowman
Beast of Bray Road
Bigfoot
Bunyip
Chupacabra
Crawler
Dogman
Dover Demon
Flatwoods Monster
Fresno Nightcrawler
Goatman
Hopkinsville Goblins
Jersey Devil
Kraken
Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp
Loch Ness Monster
Loveland Frog
Mokele-Mbembe
Mothman
Owlman
Pope Lick Monster
Rougarou
Skunk Ape
Yeti

The ethics of adding certain “cryptids” into media

Hello! I’m working on a creative fantasy work with a huge focus on cryptids in a modern setting, living their lives as mostly modern people. When making a list of cryptids to include I came across wendigos and deer women, and I thought they would be great additions. Lately I was told that it can be very controversial for me to include them. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t plan to erase their traditional meanings if I included them, but still wanted to get others perspectives, primarily people who are a part of the culture. I’ve already decided against adding wendigos after a deep dive, but I’m still considering deer women.

Any thoughts on adding creatures that are more folklore than cryptid?

Date Everything on Switch

I want to get the game so bad but read some older reviews that said the performance is very bad on switch. Is it better yet? Any updates would be appreciated. 🙏

I’ve only ever played games on other consoles and enjoyed Minecraft, assassin’s creeds, outer worlds, Stardewvalley, Tomodachi life living the dream, the long dark, telltale games, etc.

I prefer fast paced games with lots of creativity.

I wanted to get house flipper but heard that runs very poorly.
