Have you bought games on Switch you already own on other consoles?

So far for me:

Slay the Spire

Brotato

Vampire Survivors and Crawlers

Spyro Trilogy

FF7 Integrade

FF8

RE Generations pack (RE7 and RE8 I owned)

All these games I already own on PS5 and I got the original Hades on Switch first and then got it on PS5 later for the Plat trophy

I fly a lot for work and when I see games I love at a decent price I can’t help but buy them again on Switch

Just bought Switch 2 for 200 Canadian dollars

I saw Indian reseller who is selling Korean Switch 2 for 200 Canadian dollars (around 145 USD) on marketplace. She was selling regular used Switch for 500.

She put up the wrong price, so I drove 2 hours and snag this before she noticed.

Edit: It does play in English, it is not region locked, or bricked, but sadly, someone already claim Mario Kart World.

Follow up… yeah, they got me

Hello, I made a post yesterday saying how happy I was with my new (to me) Switch OLED… and then I got to play the demo of Splatoon Raiders at the Best Buy Nintendo booth

I’ve never owned a brand new console before so this is an exciting feeling, can’t wait to see the new Knick knacks this thing has for me

Is the strain on the joycons worth it?

The dbrand killswitch is not available in my country and way too expensive to import. Been trying the mumba and supacase cases that allow for something to detatch the joycon (I need something that allows me to detach joycons because 50% of time I play in docked mode)

However, I've observed it puts a lot of outward stress on the joycon while removing the cover. Will this cause wear and tear in the long run? Is it worth the "military grade" protection that the case gives (I'm comfortable playing with and without the case, doesn't make much difference to me)

PS: I have tried in every way - supporting the joycons also. It still pulls on it as shown in the video

Anyone using mumba blade/titan/supcase with removable hinges like this in the long run?

I will be probably removing it like this on the daily

First time owner of a Switch OLED, can’t believe I’ve been missing out this whole time

I’ve never owned a Switch before until three days ago when I found a listing on Facebook for an OLED for $200 and I’m blown away, had I know I’d had this much fun I would’ve bought one years ago

Now I’m thinking of getting a Switch 2 for Splatoon Riders but I can tell this thing will stay with me until it gives up, I love it

New Switch 2 owner, now torn where to buy / play my games

So right now I own a Xbox Series X with Game Pass Ultimate till 2028 and upgraded my Switch 1 to a Switch 2 last week for cheap. I'm loving the Switch 2 so far and Tears of the Kingdom is finally properly playable in handheld compared to the NS1.

I'm loving the handheld experience so much I'm considering buying more non-Nintendo games on the NS2 instead of playing them on my Series X, for example BALL x PIT and the Hades franchise. I've played both games on my Xbox either on the TV or through Cloud on my 7 inch phone with a Gamesir G8+ controller grip. Basically a Cloud Handheld.

Xbox is my main platform, but I really enjoy the Switch 2. Above mentioned games are however available on Game Pass which would mean "double dipping". At the same time, BALL x PIT is less than €10 right now on the eShop and I noticed Hades was recently like €7 on sale (but I missed it).

Do I continue to use my Switch 2 just as an exclusive machine or not.. The games I mentioned are perfect for a handheld experience but I do have a handheld experience through the Cloud for now but it's just not the same. I considered an XBOX Ally or XBOX Ally X but I just find them extremely expensive. The reguler XBOX Ally also feels like I'm buying a machine that needs a lot of tweaking to play games, despite the above mentioned games not being really heavy hitters in performance.

I might buy a future Xbox handheld, but right now that's not an option. Not going to buy another one after just buying a Switch 2 as an upgrade. Am I too invested in keeping my games attached to my Xbox account and achievements? Feels like I should let the whole platform thought go and just play the games on where they are played best or most convenient?

The dock scratched my Switch 2 before I even got a game in

Bought a Nintendo Switch 2 yesterday. After docking it just once, scratches showed up on the screen. I didn't expect it to scratch that easily — and definitely didn't expect it to happen from the official dock itself. This is my first Nintendo product ever, so... great start.

The scratches aren't deep — you can only see them with the screen off, under direct light, at a certain angle. I tried to capture them as best I could in photos. They're invisible with the screen on, and barely visible without direct light hitting it. Running a fingernail over it, I can only just feel one scratch in the center. What bugs me more is that they're there at all, and that the official dock caused them.

I ordered a dbrand screen protector, and while it's in transit I need to figure out something important: should I put it on top of the factory plastic film, or peel that off first? I've read a few posts here on this — some say leave the film on, others say remove it.

Losing the warranty doesn't worry me (doesn't apply in my country anyway), and neither does the risk of a shattered screen. The only things stopping me from ripping the film off right now are that the screen protector hasn't arrived yet, and I'm not totally sure how easy the process is. Someone mentioned adhesive residue can be left behind, and I'm worried I'll scratch the screen trying to clean it off.

In dbrand's video, they claim their glass somehow masks minor scratches. Has anyone actually used it? Do the scratches really disappear underneath it? Would appreciate any similar experiences or advice on what to do.

Finally got my Switch 2

Received her today, at the best price i could find before the price increases September 1, for 429.90.

Gonna wait till friday to opening the box, since my 2 cases will arrive there (bought one for pure portability and another to carry the dock and the rest), and one of those has a good screen protector, and i don´t want to start using without it.

I´m very happy, already have a Switch 1 V2 since 2020, and already have a few games in backlog, like One Piece Odyssey, Ryza trilogy etc.. Going to be awesome.

Thousand Year Door, Mario Maker 2, or Bowsers Fury for my 7 year old?

Hi, I’m having trouble deciding what game to buy my son for his upcoming birthday. He’s enjoyed Mario Odyssey on assist mode and being Cappy with his big brother. They also enjoyed Mario Wonder together.
I’m just wondering what is kid friendly, relatively accessible and fun?

I found this 15 year old Youtube comment on a Wii U trailer from 2011... it is hilarious in hindsight.

Thank you OLED Switch, for 4 years of great memories, especially 3 Houses & Splatoon 3. Sadly, with my divorce, I move onto hopefully better memories with my new Switch 2. May it bring joy to the new couple I sold it to, cause no way my ex was keeping it.

"Screenshots and videos from this software cannot be sent to a smart device" (Tomodachi Life, Switch Lite)

Hi! I have suddenly started to have this problem and wondered if anyone else has experienced something similar and if there's a way to fix it. I used to have a regular Switch and had Tomodachi Life LTD and was able to transfer screenshots from my switch to my phone without any problem. A while ago my regular switch finally broke and I bought a Switch Lite so I could keep playing all of my games. This is the first time since then that I've tried to transfer screenshots from Tomodachi Life so maybe this is it, but now I'm having a pop-up when I try to share or post screenshots from that software which says "Screenshots and videos from this software cannot be sent to a smart device."

I've tried looking this up and cannot find anything. I can't tell if it's to do with the fact that I'm now using a Lite or if the game updated to no longer allow this maybe? Please help if you know what's happened here!

FWIW, I can transfer screenshots and videos from other games.

After over 3 years and nearly 500 hours, I've reached true 100%

This is hands down my favourite game of all time. First game I bought on release and have played it more than any other game I own. So many memories, finally capped off with the ultimate achievement. Thank you Nintendo for making such an amazing game.
