Is generosity a shortfall?

Over the last week ive been generous with tips. I tipped my dump truck driver $170 bucks on a $1530 bill, I tipped an EMT $30 on a CPR class, and today I bought a bedroom set for my buddy for $225 and helped move it into his house. He was sleeping on the floor before. My question is; as income scales, is it normal to help people out more, tip as you feel is fair, etc? Or am I actively working against myself here and endangering everything ive worked so hard to build? Is it disrespectful to money itself to act in the way i have been recently? For perspective, I make about ~20k a month. I feel conflicted, both good to help people and also worry that im acting against my self interests.

Bid input

Looking at a job to demo/fill and compact/topsoil and seed an old fiberglass 16x35 pool, which it wrapped with ~1000 sqft concrete pool deck. Included in scope is ripping all those trees and fence out, thats all gonna be topsoiled and hydroseed. Also included in scope is clearing ~250ft of tree-line about 10 feet back to open up the view a bit. Mostly hauling/chipping trees, a little can get lost down the hill. Im landing around 40k in the PNW and wanted to see people's thoughts on that number. Thanks!

2017 Tl10v2

2017 TL10v2 with 1830 hrs. Open cab, standard flow, little scuffed up paint, run and operates as it should. Sun faded paint. Rental machine getting retired. 25k plus tax. So like 26,500 or so out the door. Decent deal?

Turned out pretty sweet

I posted here a month ago or so asking input on scope for this job. Ended up going with blasted quarry rock. 65 ton of boulders, 65ton of drain rock, 50 ton of fill and top, 60 ft of French drains for downspouts/foundation drains, and about 3 gallons of coffee. 1 guy, 3 weeks.

Received this as a double scoop ice cream

Long day, dirty, just want ice cream. I called him out. The employee insisted that "he actually put 3 scoops in it".

I strongly resisted causing a scene.

Input

This is about as tight as I can stack this rock (blasted granite of some type, not salt and pepper). I twerk on each rock i place to ensure its study as all get out. That being said, im thinkin pack the gaps with some quarry spall. Any thoughts on how to make it look the best I can? I was imagining chinking with clay and adding moss after I pack spall. Boulder wall guys tell me the secrets. There will be a small terrace and a shorter wall above wrapping a patio.

1997 12v

I just spent $1350 on a front main seal, valve cover gaskets and a tappet cover gasket installation. Its still just dumping oil. I see its leaking from where the vacuum pump meets the back of the timing cover. That cant be the only leak tho, and its so hard to tell cuz the whole engine is just coated in oil... is there some specific places I should look?

Its just killing me because im destroying every place I park, and as a contractor its just unprofessional. Will I ever be able to fix this or is this just accepted as a 12v thing?
