Best deal you've gotten for a 7X?

Hi all.

My wife and I are looking at getting a 7X and were just wondering if anyone's managed to get any sort of extra deal when purchasing the car? I suspect there probably won't be much, if anything, on the price that they can do, but has anyone got any goodies added to it? Free items, chargers, tinting/paint protection etc? We haven't dealt with a car dealer in a very long time and given how well they're selling, I'm not sure if we'll be able to get anything, but I thought I'd ask just in case there were some success stories I could try use for our new car!

TIA!

Questions about the 7X Long Range edition

HI all. So I'm looking to get my first EV and the long range 7X is one of the finalists, but I had a few questions about it, and was hoping to get some answers from people who have been using it for a bit.

Firstly is based around the real world range. The marketing says 615km, but that's obviously based on perfect conditions, so you have to reduce it. But then the next part is that being an NMC battery, if I understand properly they also don't recommend charging it more than 80-90%, so that real world range is reduced even further. So for this part, what would be the real world range for every day city driving, and then if we did highway driving on a road trip, what would be the real range for that? I assume for the city driving it would be based on the 80-90% range, but for the road trip we'd top it up to 100% (we don't road trip often, so it shouldn't be too damaging on the battery I think)? Also not having an EV before, is there a limit to how low we should let it before charging it up again, or do we just top it up whenever regardless of the battery charge?

My next question is related to the software/app side of things. I took the 7X on a short drive and only saw a little bit of it, but didn't get a chance to see the app in action. I've heard that the software/app side of things can be a little lacking - is that the case or is it ok?

On a similar note, how is the servicing/dealership side of things? Is it easy to get things fixed if need be, or is it a pain to work with?

I think that might be all the questions I have for now. I guess if there's anything else about the 7X that might help tip the scales, let me know too?

Thanks in advanced!

Questions about the Inspire Extended Range edition

HI all. So I'm looking to get my first EV and the Inspire extended range EX5 is one of the finalists, but I had some questions about it and was hoping to get some answers from people who have been using it for a while.

Firstly is based around the real world range. I know the Inspire claims 450km but of course that's based on perfect conditions. If we wanted to go on a road trip on the highway, what can I expect to get for range before needing to charge? Also not having an EV before, is there a limit to how low we should let it before charging it up again?

My second question is related to the software/app side of things. I've taken an EX5 on a short test drive but that's it, but how are things on a daily/long term basis? How's the Geely app and what you can do with it? Are there any issues that you've found with the tech side of things or is it kind of ok?

On a similar note, how is the servicing/dealership side of things? Is it easy to get things fixed if need be, or is it a pain to work with?

I guess also if there's anything else in general I should know about the EX5 that might help tip the scales, I won't say no to that either!

Thanks in advanced!

Got a quote from Smart but they won't discuss better rates unless I get finance approval

Hi all, this might be a silly question but this is my first NL and I just wanted to see what the process was.

So last week I got a quote from Novated Leasing Australia for a Geely EX5 inspire and Zeekr 7x long range, but they were around the 10% mark for both. I decided to reach out to Smart, the provider my work mentions, and they gave me a quote for about 19-20% each, which felt crazy (I'm still new to the calc so thought I did something wrong, but as far as I can tell I've checked it and double checked it - quote page 1, quote page 2 and the calculator link for it; the Geely was similarly high priced with this calculator link). Now obviously this still has a bunch of stuff I'd remove like the insurance, roadside assistance, carbon offset program, small repair program etc but even with those adjusted to more reasonable numbers, the lease amount is still quite high.

I did some digging through this sub and a colleague that got the 7x recently, and it was higher than all of them that I could find. My colleague got the same car and specs, is in the same department as me and went also went through Smart, and got lower value for the lease than I did; this is also weird because she got a 4 year lease vs mine at 5 years, and mine's still more expensive. I don't know if it makes a difference, but while she does earn a tiny bit more than me, we're both in the same tax bracket, so maybe that has something to do with it? Her lease pre gst is about $45/fortnight cheaper than mine for a shorter loan according to the quote front page.

So the part that I'm not sure about is that I mentioned to Smart that I knew some people who had cheaper quotes, and also that NLA had significantly cheaper quotes, and after my consultant looked through the NLA quotes I sent though, she's come back saying that the quote I have is just indicative only since I haven't completed finance or gotten approval yet. She said that they won't be able to offer me anything better than the price they've given unless I go through and get approved finance. Is that right for them? I thought that we'd be able to figure out the rough prices for things first and then if I was happy with Smart's service (which so far is kind of a 50/50 thing), then I could go through and get the finance approved and lock in the numbers, along with getting the finalised price for the car? I could be misunderstanding how it all works and maybe this is next step for both Smart and NLA to get me better finance, but I just wanted to find out before I actually went through with the credit checks they want me to do?

Thanks in advanced!

Sanity check on quotes (Geely EX5 Inspire and Zeekr 7X Long Range)

Hi all

I'm very new to the world of NL and am still trying to learn as much as I can but just wanted to do some sanity checks to see if it makes sense, and if so, if we've got a good quote. My wife's car looks like it might be dying so we're thinking of swapping it out for an EV. We're currently tossing up between the Geely EX5 Inspire or the Zeekr 7X long range pending a test drive for each of them. For some context, as far as I can tell, my provider talks a lot about using Smart Salary, but I think I can also get access to Novated Leasing Australia as I've heard Smart can be quite high with their rates and not great with their customer service. We're probably looking for a 5 year lease, and my income is about $112,000. I got these quotes from NLA but just wanted to check if they were good for what they are?

Also, I tried my best to put them into the calculator but I got a little confused on what some things are, so apologies if I've put things in the wrong spot - I can definitely edit things to make it more accurate if need be!

This is the novated lease calculator for the Geely EX5

And this is the calculator for the Zeekr 7X

(edit: updated to correct numbers) For both of them, if I've done it right, they're both sitting around 10.01-10.07% - is that an ok amount? If I'm reading it right I'll be much better doing either of these vs buying it outright, so it seems like a good proposition, but is there anything I've missed that I need to know about or include?

Also some things - the insurance looks to be like a placeholder for both. The Geely looks pretty spot on (~$50-100 more than the placeholder value), but the Zeekr is closer to $300-$400 more than the placeholder. That said, the value for electricity they've quoted is probably too high - we have solar and a battery so most of our charging will be free, so overall I reckon things will probably just even out and the final numbers will be similar to what they've got here?

Also, how have people found NLA? Given their name, it's surprisingly hard to find any info on them because google and reddit both thing I'm curious about how novated leasing works in Australia, rather than how this specific provider is, so if anyone has any anecdotes, I'd love to hear those too!

Thanks in advanced!
