anyone have info on what is going? I am coming back from work and everything is locked down.

I am getting married in Spain in 2 days. My partner and I work in the same field so we intentionally are getting married abroad with a small ceremony of about 40 people so that folks that work with us don't upset they didn't get invited.

about 10 months ago right after we sent out the save the dates we were at a work dinner with 10 people, 4 were invited the others weren't. The wedding came up and one person who is a friend but not someone close enough that we ever even consider inviting her put us on the spot to invite her and her husband (we had never even met her husband, as I said we aren't very close). She is pretty insistent saying how she would have invited us to her wedding if she knew us before she got married 8 years ago and she knew us both separately and is friends with both of us and just makes it awkward at the dinner for us to say no at the dinner. Me and my partner already knew a couple folks we had invited couldn't make it and were like yea sure come it will be great having you. Sent her the invite she RSVPed yes and had texted us so excited to come and all that jazz.

We are getting ready to head to the airport and she texts us sometime came up at work and she cannot make it. What came up was the retirement party for her husband's boss. He worked for him for like 8 years so I would say it is not a crazy reason to miss the wedding but it is bothering me that is not something she has to be at after demanding she gets invited to the wedding and there is no way that today was when she figured out about the retirement party and the conflict. Granted even if it was a month ago we probably would not have been able to fill those seats but it seems inconsiderate considering she was only invited because she put us on the spot and demanded it
