Anyone who actually enjoys living in DFW?

Please don’t comment if you do not, I’ve seen plenty of the Texas hating posts and I get it, nyc and Chicago are probably better

I just want to hear from people who live in the DFW area and genuinely like it?

Politics aside

So who actually wrote their own jokes on the Kevin Hart roast?

Call me ignorant but I had no idea that most of the so called comedians had other people writing their jokes for these specials

But this roast was the absolute worst for me because they all kept shamelessly referring to the prompter and how they didn’t even write the jokes

So my question is, does anyone know who wrote their own jokes?

The writing on this show makes the actors look bad

Can we talk about this, for example, Penn Badgley is so wonderful on “You” and I thought him and Leighton were the better actors on GG, but I see lots of people label him as mediocre on this sub, but it’s the soap opera writing that contributed to this imo

Also, just watched season 4 with Juliet , played by Katie Cassidy, I didn’t even realize it was Katie until I was googling something else about the show ☠️ I thought she did an okay job, but I’ve seen her on supernatural and she was so damn good on that show, but GG made her look mediocre

It’s kind of sad because it probably impacted the young actors not finding serious jobs after (except for Blake)

If you watch this show from the perspective of a cheesy soap opera it’s really entertaining, but it cannot be taken seriously as a full fledge drama

Chuck and Blair’s chemistry is unreal, their heartfelt moments , even the break up ones are so beautiful in the sense that you really feel for their characters. I remember being young and watching the show just for them lol, now I watch and I see the issues they face but I still can’t help but root for them

As cheesy and soap opera ish this show gets, I find myself tearing up with some of their moments.

Jenny, as annoying and horrible as she gets, I always end o up forgiving her because she definitely has her redeeming qualities and at the end of the day, she’s young and growing. And as frustrated with her storyline as I get, I can’t help but want to watch lol, she creates so much drama for storyline purposes

I find myself skipping all Dan, Vanessa and most of Serena’s storylines season 3 onwards

So I’ve seen so many people recommend Boston, Seattle, Portland, etc but I haven’t seen anything about Baltimore

I was dead set on moving to Seattle, until I got another job offer in Baltimore and I frankly know nothing about it

So anyone here who has lived or currently lived in Baltimore that can provide some insight?

I’m 34, single with my dog and a job making 120K a year

First couple seasons she’s pretty annoying but her storyline fits and it carries the show at one point

Then she has such a great redemption arc, and they could have continued with that, she ends the hierarchy, or tried to, continues her fashion line… something

And I get the actress wanted to leave, but they could have just ended her story by saying she went off to some fashion school or something other than how they treated her character

Makes it so hard to rewatch

I have never seen something so awful and cringe ☠️

This is my first rewatch since being a teenager btw

Penn Badgley brought so much to the character of Dan, so it’s not easy to hold your own next to him, but Hilary’s forced and unauthentic acting made the entire storyline so cheap and bizarre

This is coming from a Lizzie McGuire fan btw

I just can’t believe how painful she is next to Penn. Maybe they should have given her a different storyline to push the envelope vs her just playing the same old character?

Idk may have to fast forward this

Possibly one of the greatest diss tracks released

And the last time we heard “shady”

It sounds like old school Eminem where he’s just riding the beat and spitting great lyrics instead of trying to fit a ton of syllables into a sentence

Pure genius, wish it got the same popularity as killshot
