Not even kidding, will trade our extra GA Red Rocks for some good pop-up merch

Specifically the Red Rocks Shirt if they have it, but would do any other popup exclusives and little knick knacks someone wants to toss in. I have it feeling it'll be slim picking by the time I'm off work and across town if I even make it

If a current cast member ever had to step in last minute to host, like Eddie Murphy in S8, who would you pick and why?

My first thought was Kenan, since he'd be the most significant member of the cast to host at this stage, but I'm not sure he'd take all that screentime.

Sarah Sherman would probably kill the monologue, but it's hard to see her functioning as much like the host in sketches.

Funnily enough, I think Kam Patterson is probably the one who would stand out the most being in the majority of sketches, since that's just not how he's used and he's got that charisma to function more as the special guest than a player.

Guesses on the 4 songs he's swapping in for the Red Rocks setlist?

My guess is that without Cove City, he's dropping Simple & Sweet and Luxury, same as at Bottle Rock. I suspect he'll keep playing all of Father Figure, but could see him swapping the full version of Horoscope for one of the others.

Now, songs I expect he's adding:

  1. Two Car Garage, I think he's gonna want to play it live at least a couple times
  2. Good Things Fall Apart, Illenium might not be around since he's touring international, but I could see him doing it just for the sake of being at Red Rocks.
  3. Overwhelming, played a lot on the GSP tour and I could see him swapping it in for 80s Film or Guillotine
  4. Cautionary Tales or JT, two of his favorite GSP songs that I could see him swapping in for Conversations with My Wife or (though I sincerely he keeps it) Blu.

Still any chance of acoustic versions?

I would KILL to have a studio recording of Father Figure with the trumpets from FH. Same for a WHY with Jon doing both verses, and I think he could do something really cool with Rich and Broke.

I know he's said we're nearing the end of the Father Figure era, but I'm holding out hope this isn't his first album without acoustics!

PSA for your Spotify Playlists: Try "Horoscope - Live from Forest Hills" as your intro into "Father Figure"

"Father Figure" the song was first up in my JB playlist, so this works great as an overall playlist intro, but I'm sure they also pair well anywhere in a playlist.

Any amount of crossfade fixes the hard cut at the end of Horoscope.

What do we think the event capacity is? Curious what crowds to expect if it actually sells out.

I would've guessed 2500-3000 with 1.3k rooms in Sunrise and not all of them going to concert guests.

It hasn't felt like more than maybe 1200 people past years, but I might be estimating since the venue has so much room to spread out.

I could see myself still having a good experience if the crowd doubles, but it would definitely be different

How much luck with proximity requests?

This is our first year booking two rooms - wondering if they really will put us as close together as possible if we make the request, or if it's just the luck of the draw.

Shows that have a very "static" main character, but it still works because of all the character development around me?

I don't quite have the right words, since it would be reductive to call such a great characterization "two dimensional" or a "caricature," but in Spider-Noir, Nick Cage's character just is what he is.

He doesn't change much and you wouldn't expect him to change, but with Cat Harding, Robbie, Flint, and other to still give the show character arcs, it feels like there's still plenty of development.

What other shows have a central character who doesn't change much, but it still "works?"

Noah & Friends: mostly covers again, or new album collabs?

Curious what people are expecting and / or hoping for.

The Friends set was a ton of fun last year, but with so much new music out I kinda want to see him play as much of his own catalogue as possible, and there are so many great fits, like doing Downfall with Hayley again of course, maybe End of August with The Head & The Heart, I could see Headed North with Mt Joy, etc

How many artists to we think are TBA? 4-5

Last year I believe we ended up with 15 artists, 10 included the original announcement. All the teases for more TBA make it sound like this is more the status queue then years 1-2, with 11-12 artists, and only 1-2 last minute additions.

Could he have written "A Few of Your Own" at or about Out of The Blue?

It struck me the first time listening that this would make a great festival song, and be especially fitting for Out of The Blue, especially with the first lines of the chorus.

Then, it clicked to me that the chorus shares multiple full lyrics with Caamp songs and potentially shorter ones with RKS songs, while the verses *heavily* parallel Silver Lining by Mt. Joy.

It's almost like he was trying to capture all the feelings of that time and place, including the other artists and music.
