It's Over!!

Sorry - just so happy. Wrangler 4xe is gone. 4 year lease. Towed multiple times, left stranded, couldn't drive with newborn as it shut down on us previously as was unsafe. Just went through final inspection and all good. No extra fees. Went back with like 35,000km on it. Warranty had expired to so owning it the last year was like Russian roulette.

Crazy I still see people saying they want to buy one. I've been trying to warn others.

New Recording Feature - MicroSD Card

Was about to buy a 128gb usb c thumb drive to use with the recording feature but realized I had a 512gb micro SD lying around. Bought an 8$ usb c micro SD card reader on amazon and works like a charm. Tons of storage now. Cool having a dash came in case something happens.

Just got a new 2026

Just picked up my first EV—a 2026 OPTIQ—and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of features because I haven't had time to read the manual yet. 😅 The dealership went over so much that I'm hoping I remember half of it.

I'm also really hoping to find a way to cover the design/etching on the rear side windows (I made a previous post about it), so if anyone has figured that out, I'd love to hear what you did.

Here are a few things I've found so far (some of these are probably obvious to most owners):

One-Pedal Driving

Regen braking can be set to Normal or High (my wife doesn't like the High regen setting 😂). You can also turn One-Pedal Driving off if you want.

Dedicated regen brake paddle behind the steering wheel.

Touch entry on the door handles (if needed, push in on the handle).

Built-in Google Assistant is awesome. I can say, "Hey Google, turn off the garage light," on my way out, or "Navigate to Costco," and it actually works.

You can pre-condition/set the climate from the app before getting in.

You can see your OnStar subscription details in the app.

You can customize the shortcut buttons at the bottom of the infotainment screen.

Self Park worked surprisingly well the one time I tried it.

I think the windshield wipers are heated.

I think you can watch/play movies on the screen while parked.

It's so fast! 😄

No oil changes! (Still getting used to that coming from a gas vehicle lol)

If you're in Canada, look into EV charging clubs/reward programs. There are programs that can actually pay you for charging at home depending on your setup.

What are some of your favourite hidden features, settings, or tips that a new owner might not discover right away?

A couple of questions:

If the vehicle is locked and you unlock it, get in with the key fob on you, does it power up automatically, or do you still have to press the brake pedal?

Is there a touch-to-lock feature on the outside door handles, or do you have to use the key fob/app? I know there is auto lock which i use too.

edit: forgot one of the most important features... that button at the bottom of screen that let's you shut the door and keep the car running rather than shutting off.

also just realized I can just carry that card it came with as a key!

Those little red lights on the dash.

I feel like it didn't do this before but now it does. I don't know what those 4 little red lights are for .... but when you start your optiq, do they flash on like in this video? You can see them on the front mirror.

Covering / Deleting Design on Back Windows of Vistiq / Optiq

I really dislike the design. I've seen a few people mention they've covered it on the Optiq and/or Vistiq. I want to have a thread for info on exactly this topic since I had trouble finding it. I've researched but this is all I could find. Has anyone else done this? Or has any info related to this?

Had tint shop do ours. He told me some type of paint for rear taillights. Don’t have exact details.

Tint shop used black piano wrap on mine to make it look like glass. Can't see out of the windows but those windows are not great to see out of anyways!!

Another user:

I already commented but mine is a lease as well and I tinted over it. Will just have to remove if I take it back at the end, but I love this damn car so much I might just keep it or buy a brand new one when lease is up 😂 when the place tinted it they made a comment that the tint had already a precut for this exact shape so they think it’s a frequent
