What’s up with this whole non-canon bs a lot lately?

Two certain users I know of keep spreading the misinformation that seasons 5-10 are “non-canon” simply because the aforementioned two users don’t like those seasons. According to them, channel chasers was the finale because “Butch said so.”

I know this probably isn’t worthy of making a whole ass post, but it’s still been kinda bothersome.

Why do anthology episodes seem to be divisive among here?

Aside from anthology of interest I + II, anthology episodes seem to be divisive among here and I’m curious to hear different perspectives.

Me personally (and while I’m currently on season 7) I liked the anthology episodes I’ve seen. Aside from anthology of interest I and II, my favorites so far are reincarnation and saturday morning fun pit. I feel they allow the writers, especially in seasons 6 & 7 to get as creative as possible without worrying about canon.

Why does this episode seem to be so underrated?

Lethal Inspection (season 6, episode 6)

One of my favorite episodes of the entire series and was surprised to see how little this one seems to be discussed. Bender and Hermes form a surprisingly wholesome bond that goes deeper than looking for someone; as well as showing a side of Bender that I don’t think we’ve ever seen before.

Bender really is scared of the idea of dying, and so he feels that he needs to unleash his rage onto something. At some point in the episode, Bender breaks down and cries. Hermes even gives some of the best life advice I’ve ever heard: “Okay, Bender, you're mortal. And, okay, Inspector 5 screwed up. But that just makes the time you have left all the more precious. Do you really want to waste the rest of your life in a bitter, homicidal rage?“

I think I’d put this up there with episodes like Luck of the Fryrish, The Sting, and my personal favorite episode: The Late Phillip J. Fry. (ironically the episode right after this)

Edit: So some people in the comments claim that this isn’t underrated. I’d like to apologize for that as I’m new to this show and fandom and don’t know what’s what. I *do* know some of the universally beloved episodes (jurassic bark and luck of the fryrish being the obvious ones)

Not too long ago, I made a fanmade poster for Anthology of interest I. I saw the second episode a week ago and just finished my fanmade poster for this one.

How does it look?

This episode becomes pretty ironic when you think about it.

It’s a satire of other cartoons making certain decisions like adding more character each seasons.. did that last thing sound familiar?

What do you think are Eddy’s worst moments?

I may just make something based on what you guys say, but yes. I’m sorry if there’s probably already a million of these posts, but it’s kinda hard when you see how Eddy morally acts in season 3-5.

Tell me the episode, and what Eddy does in it.

I guess Edd, Eddy, Fry, and Leela saw that this was AI slop and decided to stay away from it

what the hell is going on with bender having a third arm, and who the hell is that guy in the green jacket? that sure as hell isn’t ed

Why is season 5 so infamous?

I think it’s an improvement over season 4 by a decent margin, *maybe* 3 in some cases though it didn’t quite capture the magic of the first 2 seasons.

what do you think?

How do you think the Eds from early seasons (season 1-2) would interact with the Eds from later seasons (season 4-5)?

I think season 1-2 Ed would probably try to have a conversation with his future season 4-5 self about monster movies. But the funniest part is that early Ed might actually be the more functional one.

Season 1-2 Double D is still highly intelligent, but he's much more humble and playful about it. He'd probably be fascinated by his future season 4-5 self at first. And ironically, early Double D might actually be more mischievous. He might intentionally mess with later Double D just to see how he reacts. For example, early Double D could secretly swap the labels on two bottles.

As for Eddy? I think season 1-2 Eddy would be disgusted at his season 4-5 counterpart. Early Eddy would probably recognize the basic traits he still has: the scheming and whatnot, but not recognize the person those traits turned him into. Early Eddy might watch later Eddy mistreat Ed and Double D and just be horrified. If later Eddy started physically abusing them, early Eddy might actually step between them.

But what do you think?

Just watched the first anthology of interest episode, and loved it. I also made a Fanmade poster for it. How does it look?

I may do one for the other anthology of interest episode when I get to it. And yes this is inspired by the simpsons treehouse of horror posters

What do you think of the Comedy Central/hulu seasons?

Hi, i’m new to this show, and it’s my first time watching. Already almost to season 3 (yes I’m watching in chronological episode order.) But anyway I ask because they seem rather divisive here. And I’m talking about season 6-10 (or 7-13)

Controversial take but I actually kinda think season 9 is ok.

It’s definitely weaker than the prior 8 seasons, but hear me out: I like the later half of this season. It brought the season up a bit for me with episodes like A Perfect Nightmare, Fairly Odd Fairy Tales, School of Crock, Fairy Beginning, and Dimmsdale Tales.

The first half was fine, admittedly rough in some places, however it does have its gems including my favorite of the season: Cosmonopoly

All of this is subjective of course, and I know the comments are gonna be disagreeing with me. But what are your thoughts?

My episode tierlist

Probably not gonna make many friends with this, particularly the episodes in D-tier or lower. I’m scared 😭

u/OpeningBreakfast4753 — 3 months ago

If the show really did end with Take this Ed and shove it, what do you think of it as a finale?

Honestly, as an episode? Amazing. As a finale? It’s just a normal episode. It‘s no Big Picture Show or anything. It doesn’t necessarily explain why Eddy is the way he is in what’s probably his worst season.

But what are your thoughts?
