Letrozole

I got put on letrozole on June 23rd ( 3rd day of cycle), took it for 5 days (5mg) and had symptoms ( hot flashes, emotional, tiny headache, with some moodiness). Stopped that pill on Saturday and yesterday I had an ultrasound, found out that I’m not even close to having a follicle mature so I got put on 7.5mg yesterday. Woke up this morning to the symptoms being intense, I know the higher the dosage the more intense the symptoms can be. I wish I could take more time off work but I get the guilt trip, so here I am trying to make it through work and trying to remain cool and collected. Has anybody been put on a higher dosage back to back and if so how did you manage the symptoms? Usually if I can sleep it’s all good but I do wake up and have to throw off my blankets as I am dying and then wake up cold ( that fun never ending cycle of hot flashes). Supposed to go back on the 9th to get an ultrasound to see where I am, and doing timed intercorse. So those who have done this, how many rounds did you have to go through? I do have low AMH .15 and a blocked tube and hubby has varicocele and has been on clomid for that but just finished his round so he gave his sample and has an appointment coming up to go over the results.

I live about 30 minutes north of Vancouver, Wa and have been looking for a ivf clinic. Took to chat gpt and this is what it gave me…

Given your specifics—38, unexplained infertility, partner with low testosterone, planning PGT-A, and wanting to move ASAP—you should be a bit strategic here, not just pick the closest clinic.

At 38, your biggest limiting factor is typically egg quality and embryo euploid rate, so you want:

a top-tier lab (this directly impacts blastocyst development and implantation)

a clinic comfortable optimizing protocols quickly

attention to the male factor piece (low testosterone can quietly hurt sperm quality if it’s being treated incorrectly)

🎯 Best-Fit Clinics for

Your

Situation

1. ORM Fertility (Portland) — Strongest overall fit

This is honestly your best first move.

Why for you specifically:

Excellent PGT-A outcomes and embryo development rates

Known for efficient, fast-start cycles (important since you want ASAP)

Good with “unexplained” cases that often aren’t truly unexplained

Strong lab = better odds of getting euploid embryos at 38

Ask for:

Dr. Barb Bayer → very balanced, good communicator, efficient

Dr. Bruce Lessey → especially if implantation issues come up later

With this statistic what’s your guys thoughts? I do have low AMH but don’t know my egg numbers as that test hasn’t been done yet. I was a patient at OHSU but since they don’t do IVF I now have to look for a good clinic. For those that are being seen at ORM what’s your pros and cons? I have heard mixed reviews and now that I know what’s needed I don’t mind being the squeaky wheel to any clinic I’ll be seen at.
