What book did you love that the movie totally butchered?

I recently read The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay (2018). I absolutely loved it, so I decided that I'd watch the movie "Knock at the Cabin" (2023). Bad move. Shyamalan completely changed the plot, to the point that it felt more like a fanfiction than a movie adaptation. What book/movie combo made y'all feel that way?

Can customers PLEASE put clothes on before coming to the door??

I don't mind the robe or kimono or whatever, or when someone like halfway hides behind the door. A bit awkward sometimes, but fine. Tell me why dude came to the door tonight, opened it up all the way, and was wearing nothing but the shortest, tightest boxer briefs I've ever seen. I didn't wanna see that shit, man, just toss some fuckin sweatpants or basketball shorts on dude it can't be that fucking hard. Even a towel would've been better, man, fuck.

When does "tea" happen?

I'm (US American) reading a novel that takes place in England, and the main character mentioned his "Dad was making tea: fish and chips, my favourite."

I guess I never realized that "tea" could refer to a meal and not just the beverage. Does it serve as a stand-in for lunch or dinner? Or is it more like a snack/miniature meal halfway between the two larger meals?

EDIT FOR CLARITY:

My second paragraph is very American, I apologize! I was framing it around the general US meal schedule, being breakfast in the morning, lunch around noon, and dinner in the evening.

Anyone else's navigation sucking lately?

I've been on Uber Eats for about 9 months or so, and in the past few weeks the navigation function is getting worse and worse. They have me going down alleys, going past customer addresses, and it doesn't even tell me what side of the road any addresses are on anymore. They even tried to get me to go the wrong way down a one way street earlier tonight. Is stuff like this happening for everyone?

AITAH for Leaving a Wheelbarrow and Shovel Outside of a Locked Garage?

First time posting in AITAH so I apologize if there are any rules that I didn't understand when I read through them.

So I am a "friend of the family" for my ex's family. Even though we broke up over 3 years ago, we dated for a long time over high school and college. Because of that, I'm still close with some of the family members, even though I am no longer with my ex. My ex has an aunt, who we'll call Susan, with whom I've always been really close. We work in the same profession, my ex lived with her while we were still dating, and she and I live in the same city.

Over the past 2 or 3 summers, my best friend (we'll call him Noah) and I, both 26M, have done some yard/gardening work for her and her husband (I'm not sure on their ages, but I'd guess late 60s to mid 70s). They've always paid us, although we've said a few times they don't need to.

About a month ago, we came over to tackle the weeds in the front garden. The garden is pretty large, and hadn't been fully weeded in a while. So we went deep, pulling up invasive vines from under bushes, taking weeds out at the root. Because our work was really thorough, and the garden was so big, we got about halfway done before Susan and her husband had to head out, so she asked us to start wrapping up. Every time we'd worked for them before, the garage had been unlocked, and they'd been outside with us doing yardwork too.

They ended up leaving right as we were taking the last few bags of weeds to the back to burn. By the time we brought the wheelbarrow and shovel to the back, the garage and backyard fences were both locked. We sent Susan a quick text with a picture of where we left the tools, kind of tucked between the side garage wall and the fence, and headed home.

Fast forward a few days, and Susan calls me and leaves a voicemail asking where the wheelbarrow and shovel ended up. I text her and ask if she saw the picture, and she says yes, but it hadn't been there when she'd checked. She reaches the conclusion that metal pickers took the tools, as the area behind the garage is often used for trash pickup. Well shit.

I felt absolutely horrible about the whole situation, so Noah and I both apologized and offered to buy her a new wheelbarrow, and that I have a big enough car that I'd even bring it straight to her house. She didn't answer either of our texts, about the apologies or offers to make it right, and now I'm just not sure where it stands.

Were Noah and I the assholes for putting the tools in the safest spot we could manage without keys? Should we have done more in the moment to find a safer place for the tools? We both feel really guilty, especially considering we only finished half the garden.
