Why I am sceptical of the name "Sentinel"

Hello,

The community recently came to the consensus that TESVI will most likely be called "Sentinel" based on what has been found during this and the last week. However, I am remaining sceptical of this, taking it all with a grain of salt because, to me, it doesn't sit right. Not the name itself, I think it is a cool title, but the recent "proofs" just don't feel....right.

8 Asterisks

We all seen the tweet from Asha, and then replied by BGS, "The Elder Scrolls: ********", 8 asterisks = 8 symbols? It is likely, especially seeing how both Asha and BGS did use 8 asterisks. But is it 8 symbols? we don't really know, we are guessing that it is.

There are many 8 symbol words that can be used here, Sentinel, Dominion, High Isle, High Rock, Remnants, Skyshard, Evermore, Redguard... so this tweet alone, if true doesn't really narrow it down for us as much.

Project Guardian

The next "proof" we are using is that Sentinel is a synonym of Guardian. I do not think this is a good thinking process that we should use, project codenames are thought of to hide the game and title you are working on.

While yes, you can find examples of Project Codenames that were pretty obvious like RDR3 being used for Red Dead Redemption 2, you also have examples like Sunrise, Woodstock and Forte, could you guess from these that they are codenames for Forza Horizon 4, 5 and 6? What about Cardinal? This was the codename for Age of Empire 4.

While I will agree that Bethesda, historically wasn't always secretive with some of their games, like Skyrim was just Skyrim, Fallout 76 was Project 76... but Fallout 4 was Angelina and Starfield was Genesis, which aren't that obvious, we know that Genesis made sense after Starfield released.

Microsoft also expects a level of security, and we see this with their own studios and the codenames they use, looking at Xbox Studios codenames like Athena, Olympus, Xenon, Foundry, Mara, Badger, Alabama... we should start assuming that Project Codenames aren't hinting at potential future titles, so the fact that Sentinel is the synonym of Guardian, I would take it with a spoonful of salt, because most of the times, project codenames have little to do with the actual game being created.

Michael Kirkbride confirmation

Kirkbride has been seen recently sending a "yep" reply under a comment stating that the title will be "Sentinel". We all know that Kirkbride's involvement in The Elder Scrolls has been monumental as he has helped shape a lot of lore we have today, and has continued to contribute to the in-game lore via the Imperial Library but also with out-of-game texts, a famous one being C0DA.

While Kirkbride has a big positive reputation within the franchise community, there is still the fact that Kirkbride hasn't worked for The Elder Scrolls in a while and even confirmed having no involvement with The Elder Scrolls 6. But some also argue that this doesn't matter and that he may still have contacts at the studio, which true, I am guessing that he has a good relation with Kurt for example with whom he has worked previously while at Bethesda.

That said, I would not use him as proof, I would keep it in mind that Kirkbride believes the title to be Sentinel, but the assumption that he has some insider knowledge is just fuelling our confirmation bias.

4Chan Leaks

The entire idea that it may be called "Sentinel" started out with one 4Chan 'leak' funnily enough. I don't think I need to go deep into why we shouldn't trust 4Chan, and tell you that 98% of the time any "leak" posted there isn't true and that it is just some anons taking a piss out of the community.

Jez Corden

Yesterday, we have heard Jez Corden confirming that he has heard some chatter about the name potentially being called 'Sentinel', but he himself has said that his sources are not even sure about it lol.

While Jez Corden is reliable, it is only when he writes posts for WindowsCentral, that is where Jez puts his actual insider confirmed information that he was able to dig out, while on platforms like social media or podcasts, we know that Jez talks about more of the unconfirmed rumours and his own speculations.

We should also take what Jez has said with a grain of salt, especially when he said that his source isn't even sure that they heard it right.

Starfield

In Starfield, within the character creation window, you as the Player are given an Employee-ID, we have found out a while ago, not long after release that this is a cryptograph which translates to S E N T I N E L.

We claim that this is too much of a coincidence and that it must be TESVI because nothing else makes sense.... Is it? Sentinel is a common word used in various of sci-fi games and games in general, we see it in Fallout 4, we see it in Indiana Jones, we see it in Starfield in multiple places.. but we don't use those games as "teases" despite also coming from Bethesda, we only use it when it was a cipher.

Starfield uses Sentinel as an armour trait, for ship parts and as a separate ship-class. Indiana Jones uses it as surnames for journalists, Fallout 4 mentions this is one of the quests.

Could it be a hint for TESVI setting? Yeah, it is possible.
Could it be a hint for something in Starfield? Even more possible.

Bethesda never did cross-franchise teases for future projects, we have had Fallout 3 tease Fallout 4 just like we had Oblivion tease Skyrim, but these were location teases and general setting teases, we never have gotten title teases like this.

To assume that the Starfield cipher refers to TESVI also assumes that Bethesda is doing something completely new after the 40 years of being in business within the gaming industry, and this is something that is bold to assume. We as humans love patterns, we like order, so for Todd Howard and their marketing team to suddenly switch up their tactic would be something odd.

Legal complications - Trademarks

Here is where I think that the theory of the subtitle falls apart the most. Trademarks.

Teasing the subtitle 3 years ago within Starfield opens Bethesda up to the dangers of Trademark trolls, these are people that would go and file a trademark for the word "Sentinel" as a game title, and we know that Zenimax does trademark both the full game titles as well as the subtitle only. So they are opening themselves up to the risk of someone stealing the trademark from under their noses.

The reason why we don't see any trademark being filed yet is exactly because they want to minimize that risk, and them staying silent protects them from any trademark trolls or trademark squatters. What is interesting is that they haven't even filed an Intent to Use Trademark, which is a trademark that basically says "We want to release a product with this name and are calling dibs".

Shadow Filing also gives them so much protection, 6 months, but we knew about the Starfield cipher for about 3 years now.

Would Zenimax and Xbox really risk this? Would they go out of their way to include teases of the upcoming title of TESVI 3+ years before announcement? This is something that I find hard to believe that they would open themselves up so much.

Conclusion

All this, to me, counts as "To good to be true", where we believe that everything aligns and think we figured it out because so many potential hints point to 'Sentinel' being the title. But it also opens them up for potential legal difficulties of someone potentially stealing the trademark.

It may be that Sentinel was one of the potential titles they could go for, and it's up to their Legal team to figure out if it's viable alongside couple other proposals.

It very well may end up being the title, I don't disagree with this, but I do believe that we don't have enough evidence to outright say that it's going to be the title, we have to take the grain of salt because we do not want another RedFall situation. For all we know, they have a Project Sentinel in the works which is Fallout 3 remake, and insiders just thought it was TESVI.

What is the subtitle? And do the trademarks tell us anything?

Hello everyone!

>This will be a long post, here is the TLDR; We have really just 3 very probable Subtitles for the next TES game, these are Sentinel, Dominion, Redguard, but it could also be Remnants as it is a known faction in Hammerfell and Bethesda Game Studios have released an Creation Mod for Skyrim back in 2021 giving us a glimpse into their lore. We also have a strange and interesting trademark for Redguard without usage, it was first filed in 2011, refiled in 2014 and abandoned in 2018, it is also not tied to the TES Adventures game by the same name.
Lastly, my guess is that the Marketing machine for TESVI has started churning and we will most likely hear more and potentially see TESVI at TGA and the months leading up to that event.

So we have all probably seen the news by now, Asha Sharma has seen a live playthrough of TESVI while she was visiting Bethesda Game Studios, after which we have been given the first ever clue regarding the subtitle of the 6th main instalment of The Elder Scrolls franchise. To anyone who have missed it, here is the tweet;

Asha Sharma tweets about seeing TESVI and hints that the subtitle contains 8 symbols. BGS confirmed it in a reply.

This is the most amount of news we have gotten so far after the official teaser has dropped. Knowing it is 8 symbols we can give a more precise guess list for the subtitles. I will later on go more in-depth regarding the possibilities of the subtitles and why these could be chosen as the subtitle. One of these subtitles does have some trademark background which I think is interesting.

Here is the list of probable subtitles;

  1. Sentinel
  2. Dominion
  3. Remnants
  4. Redguard
  5. Aldmeris
  6. Evermore

These are guesses given by the community as seen on this subreddit, but there are also some oddballs thrown in there by myself, which I would say have a lower probability of being the subtitle but the reasons why it could be possible are interesting enough to add them :D

TESVI: Sentinel

I think this is the leading guess for the games subtitle, Sentinel is pretty much the capital of Hammerfell, a huge port city known for trade, craftmanship, music, food... it is the largest city with the highest population in Hammerfell. We do know that it contains a Mages Guild and that many known people like Cyrus or Weltan call Sentinel their home.

This would follow the Province/Place naming convention that Bethesda have used for 3 previous games; Morrowind, Skyrim and Daggerfall.

Source: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sentinel

TESVI: Dominion

The second most voted on subtitle, this would follow the event naming convention like Arena and Oblivion. Outside of Dominion meaning taking control over a country and/or people, this makes sense seeing Hammefell history where both the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion seeked to take control over Hammerfell in their own ways.

Hammerfell is currently independent, they have broken off from the Empire and the Second Treaty of Stros M'kai gave them breathing room from the Aldmeri Dominion which seeks to reinstate the power of the 1st Aldmeri Dominion.

Sources;
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Second_Treaty_of_Stros_M%27Kai
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Hammerfell

TESVI: Remnants

This is more of a follow up to the previous on, whilst searching up the lore for the subtitles I came across this little lore bit, that after the Second Treaty of Stros M'Kai has been signed, a more secretive group was formed, the Remnants, also known as Eyes that Watch. This group of warriors and spies have one role, make sure that the Aldmeri Dominion keeps their end of the Treaty.

Interestingly enough also, the Remnants actually do operate in Skyrim and we do meet members of this group, Fijeh whom we help to rescue Rakeed from the Thalmor, we even get a neat armour set upon completing the questline*

This group is very influential in Hammefell, more of an open-secret group but their influence stretches far and wide, and it has been hinted that there is a resistance growing in Hammerfell.

*Redguard Elite Armaments where all this is found is a Creation Mod, however it is an official Creation Mod created by Bethesda Games Studios and published in 2021 for Skyrim Anniversary Edition. It is interesting that such an addition has been added by BGS themselves to Skyrim and in 2021 out of all dates, this would be around the time where TESVI would have been finalizing the concept stage...perhaps a hint?

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Interception
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Redguard_Elite_Armaments

TESVI: Redguard

Here, we have a trademark! and a interesting one at that. The trademark was filed on March 2011, before Skyrim released, we know that BGS already knows the next game before releasing the one they are working on. But some may say, isn't it tied to the TES Adventures: Redguard game? well I have checked, and it's not linked to it which makes it weird.... The trademark has finally been closed as abandoned in 2014 after 5 extensions were granted, then the trademark was resubmitted in 2014 and it went through another 4 years of extensions granted and left abandoned in 2018.... Why would Zenimax do that?

Some say, that it was just IP protection, but it doesn't really make much sense to me because for example you do not have the same type of active protective procedures with the likes of High Rock, Khajiit, Elswheyr etc, so what makes "Redguard" so unique? The 98' game has a different set of trademarks, I have checked... also if it were connected to the 98' game there would be an Use Statement filed as TES Adventures: Redguard has been back for purchase on e-stores as far back as 2015 on GOG, that counts as active usage.

TESVI: Aldmeris & TESVI: Evermore

These are more of the far-fetched ideas, not going to go into much detail, Aldmeris is the long forgotten land of the elves, and well that is where the Aldmeri Dominion gets it's name. Evermore is one of the Kingdoms in HighRock that borders both Hammerfell and Skyrim, and that is somewhat close to where the camera starts in the TESVI Teaser.

--------------------------------------------------------
So there is that, I am actively looking at the trademarks, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary, anything that could match The Elder Scrolls.

Seeing how now we are getting hints at the Subtitle, it does mean that the marketing machine is starting to churn, you do not give such hints if you aren't planning to do a reveal during the next couple of months. My money is on TGA, it just seems fitting, Todd Howard loves stage presence and TGA is the largest gaming event reaching an audience of over 170mil, that is a reach that you cannot just take advantage of.

Xbox needs new customers, so revealing TESVI during an Xbox event just doesn't make sense as there you are just getting people who are already customers of Xbox, these aren't new customers. Not to mention the Xbox Events at most get what? 5mil views? If Bethesda Games Studios would be able to just get 1% of the TGA audience on-board, that is 1.7million new customers, to put that into perspective, if 1.7million new Players bought TESVI at $69.99, that is almost $118 million in revenue, about 25% of the games budget if we are to believe it will be in the ballpark of $400-500mil.

Asha Sharma - latest memo - Copium induced theory

Hello,

Long time no post!

So The Verge has gotten their hands on a memo sent out by Asha Sharma within Xbox, the full can be seen here; https://www.theverge.com/games/973520/xbox-ceo-memo-one-year-growth

I will try to keep this post short, just share my views and what I guess are hints at what's to come.

>In a memo obtained by The Verge, Sharma told staff by the end of fiscal year 2027 (which runs through next June), “we will return XBOX to player and revenue growth.” Xbox will also “improve profits back in line with industry averages,” Sharma said. “Every function and studio will own part of that outcome.”

Right of the bat, she starts out she starts out strong stating that the beginning of the "rebirth" let's call it, will start during the end of FY27, which ends in June 2027 (not 2028). This does kinda tell us a bit about the general Xbox wide timeline moving forward.

>CORE: Strengthen our platform, led by console

I read it as Helix being soon to be officially announced, historically these been announced around the time of E3 (Summer Game Fest today), so I would expect it being the same here, ending the fiscal year on a very strong note. It would also imply that TESVI will indeed launch alongside the new console if our copium brains believe late 2027 to be the release window (I still believe in this).

>CONTENT: Grow great games into global franchises

This is something we already heard in regards to Zenimax, that the core focus will be The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. The "Global franchises" may be interpreted as expanding each franchise portfolio and bleed into different media types, something that is semi-confirmed later in the memo.

>In FY28 and FY29, our Four C’s and roadmap must move into businesses producing meaningful player value and revenue acceleration.

And there we have it, the plan to push their franchises into new business types, which I presume is just different media-types as those do produce player value.

>The company is also shifting its studio system from a decentralized model to one that’s “more focused around our strongest franchises and biggest new ideas,” Sharma said — something that’s already become evident with changes like the big new Fallout push. Xbox will build “long-term plans” for its biggest franchises “across film, television, consumer products, sponsorship, live experiences, and form new partnerships globally, including China.

This is the biggest confirmation, "for it's biggest franchises", The Elder Scrolls is ultimately amongst those, and with the success of Fallout TV Series, I can see Xbox wanting to do something similar with TES. Though I don't know how a TV Show would work, maybe something like an anthology.

'Consumer products' would fit into what we are seeing with the trademarks, while I am not reporting on trademarks not related to Elder Scrolls, franchises and games like Fallout Shelter, The Evil Within, Quake, Doom under the Zenimax banner all have received updates to their merchandise trademarks. Is this tied with this memo? Maybe.

The mention of 'Live experiences' can be interpreted as Live Service within games, but also as something physical, we actually know that Microsoft has been planning to create an entire Minecraft Theme-Park and is slated to release next year. This can be somewhat of a pilot project for potential future investments revolving around other franchises.... Not gonna lie, it would be pretty cool if they made a Morrowind or Skyrim like theme-park.

TLDR: Not that much has been said in the memo, however it shows the commitment to start improving Xbox as an entire business starting mid next year, with a hint that the next generation Xbox may indeed release late next year. Asha Sharma has also said that they will be investing a lot for their top franchises, amongst which is The Elder Scrolls, and Fallout, with the plan to expand into different media like Film, Television and very likely also books, novels and comics while they are at it.

p.s - The memo does mention the likes of Minecraft and plans that go briefly into 2030, the entire timeline from now until 2030. I focused on the bits that could allude to and involve Zenimax and the studios under this banner.

Xbox Layoffs - Breakdown

Disclaimer: This is a long post where I try to breakdown numbers based on what we know about the lay-offs. While this isn't explicitly TESVI news, it does impact Bethesda and TESVI in some shape or another. The sources for these numbers are estimates based on industry averages calculated against Xbox size and taking into account Asha's wording. This post isn't to justify the layoffs, It is a horrid day for a lot of people who lost their jobs, while I do mention it is a necessary evil, I do not condone these actions, just giving my opinion trying to take the perspective of a business owner of this scale. There is also a lot happening in the background of Microsoft that we do not know about as it's kept confidential thus this post is speculative based on what is available to us and forming an educated guess on top of that.

My primary source for these numbers was the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit as they do provide sources for their rumours and it is a well regulated subreddit that tries to moderate that actual news/rumours get posted from notable people within the industry.

Intro

There is a lot of commotion here regarding the recent layoffs and the planned layoffs at Xbox, and I will start by saying I really do feel sorry for the people who were suddenly cut and lost their jobs, and it shows the evil side of corporations where people are human resources, and they are treated like resources. I do wish for all those laid off to be able to find work soon, that they do get support from their colleagues and friends. The gaming industry is a weird and angry beast, it is the biggest industry and yet, one with the biggest competition due to a low supply of jobs and a huge demand for jobs.

What do I think about the layoffs on the business aspect? It is a necessary evil, Phil Spencer really did fuck up managing the division and it shows, Asha has been given a sinking ship and a trade-off has been decided to cut lose 3200 people so that the 12000 others can keep theirs. I do think that if this decision wouldn't have been made, we would actually see a potential collapse of Xbox, where all the Studios would have to either scramble to find buyers or figure out how to become independent or simply shutdown.

I will breakdown for us all here based on what we know, who has been affected the most, counting towards the 1600 3200 employees;

note: I am counting towards 3200 as many sources are explicit in stating whether these are planned or already laid-off employees.

Studios spun-off / sold - ~450 employees

  • Compulsion Games (Indie) - ~100 employees
  • Undead Labs (Sold) - ~130 employees
  • DoubleFine Productions (Indie) - ~100 employees
  • Ninja Theory (Sold) - ~120 employees

Note: These studios will still receive funding for the projects started under Xbox with no strict demands such as forcing to launch on GamePass

Middle Management (14 levels of management)

This seems to be the biggest hit. Asha did mention explicitly that they want to limit these levels to about 3-5 max, meaning that Management is receiving a cut of about 70% of their workforce. Xbox has around 16000 employees, I think it is safe to say that from Management across the board we can expect about 600 employees.

Platform Team

This is the second biggest hit in the layoffs, Asha has stated that the Platforms Team grew by about 40% since the start of the console generation while hardware sales and adoption are going down. While we don't have concrete numbers, we can only extrapolate based on other companies. The team behind Platforms should be around 15% of Xbox total pre-Actiblizz, about 1500 employees dealing with everything hardware and Xbox software related, if this grew by 40%, this may affect ~600 employees.

ID Software

Roughly 95 employees, if this source is meant to be correct - https://bsky.app/profile/dark1x.bsky.social/post/3mpyugwk5yc27
This suggest that ID Software will be forced to shift away from their internal Engine, and likely become a supporting Studio. Doom while a beloved franchise, didn't make enough income to justify the R&D costs of a proprietary engine, we have seen this before with the likes of CDPR.

Obsidian

Reports claim Obsidian will lose 60-70 employees, this is a 25% cut in staff, and affects almost all branches of development. Grounded and The Outer Worlds 2 DLC are still expected to continue.

Bethesda

35 employees, this includes a lead from the mobile division, community managers, artists and such. Roughly 7% of Bethesda workforce, and its across multiple locations.

Arkane

They are looking to be spun-off or sold to a buyer, this is still during the consultation phase, but it would account for a ~220 employee loss from Xbox even if the studio remains, they count towards the big number.

Zenimax Online

Multiple sources claim "Up to half" of the workforce, so anywhere between 150-250 employees.

Other Studios

We know that Mojang will be affected, however no clue by how much, there is a lot of managerial levels over there.

Activision-Blizzard, I believe this will be one taking a hit in the next round of layoffs. Blizzard hasn't been in shape since Overwatch 1 launched, and is known for toxic working environment and crunch culture, we can expect potential projects like Starcraft being cut, alongside downsizing World of Warcraft division since that game has been going downhill, Overwatch 2 will experience a small cut alongside Hearthstone team. Activision could see a larger hit as because well, what do they have outside Call of Duty?

Internal PR, Marketing and Publishing

Here we can expect cuts as well, since the tally of overall studios is being shrank, there is no need to keep them all, no idea about the numbers though.

TOTAL

If we assume these numbers to be close to what we are seeing, Middle Management, Platform Team, ID Software, ZOS, Obsidian and Bethesda would subtotal to about ~1600.

If that is the case, then the remaining 1600 will most definitely affect Activision-Blizzard foremost, as that part of Xbox is huge, and account for about half the Xbox employee count

I do acknowledge that the Middle Management could also include people laid-off from other departments such as Platforms, thus there is an overlap which does bring the actual total lower of what we know, however I do think this is a decent baseline to see where the cuts are being made, we will most likely learn of more departments / studios affected by the first way in the upcoming days.

[FOR HIRE] Project Manager & QA Manual Tester/Manager

Hey there everyone!

I'd like to introduce myself, I got by Optimal-Fox on Reddit and CatDalf on Discord. I have worked within the gaming industry for almost 4 years in the QA department, starting out as a regular tester and ending my career in GameDev as a QA Coordinator/Manager where I have managed teams of up to 40 testers within my area of the game. This experience is within AAA Games, I am credited within Forza Horizon 5 as a tester, and for the two DLCs that came out for it, I am credited with a QA Coordinator/Manager position. I also have experience testing other games within Playtest sessions, though these were uncredited.

I am currently working as a Project Manager within marketing, managing several short-term projects for industry giants. I have experience using most project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Clickup, Trello and have used similar internal tools as well. The only area I have minimal experience when it comes to QA is Mobile testing.

Additional noteworthy skills would be Client Communications, Documentation creation, High-level planning, report creation (with the help of automation), Team management and Mentoring, Ticket Database management.

I would prefer a Management role (Project manager, QA manager), however I won't shy away for more QA-centric positions if needed.

I will be more than happy to answer any questions regarding my experience within the comments, and any business related topics within DMs.

Will you pre-order?

With the recent debates around GTA6 pre-orders, I became curious about TESVI and how the community would approach pre-orders.

I do understand pre-ordering special editions, like with Starfield and that smartwatch, it is a cool piece of merchandise to own, but people also pre-order base versions of digital games which doesn't make much sense to me.

What would Bethesda have to offer to make you pull the trigger on pre-ordering the game?

Relax, tomorrow we will get news (Monday)

I know today (Sunday) was the 40th anniversary, and Bethesda are also aware of this, but it's a Sunday. We should wait till tomorrow (Monday), that is when the team is in the office, when the community managers are working.

Keep in mind, while a lot of people at Bethesda love Bethesda and the franchises they work with, it is still a job, and so let us wait until they come back to the office the day after the 40th anniversary and keep an eye out on their socials as that is when we would be getting any info.

Could they have scheduled posts in advance? Yeah, I think there would be a way to do that. But they didn't do that, maybe they have something planned for their 40th, maybe they will announce a event or something, who knows. Only time will tell.

Do you feel anxious?

Hello everyone!

I thought to ask this question, to get some discussion going whilst we wait for TESVI.

Do you feel anxious.... about playing TESVI and it not meeting your expectations? Or playing TESVI and not feeling the same spark as when you played Skyrim (or a previous TES) for the first time?

I do keep having these thoughts once in a while, thinking about how my days will look when TESVI releases, and there is a small part of me asking myself, whether I am not overestimating what could be delivered, what if Bethesda had a one hit wonder with Skyrim.

This isn't to bash or discredit Bethesda, no, I do enjoy their games, and even Starfield I have enjoyed despite it being a mediocre game from game design standpoint. I can sit here and realize that Starfield isn't bad because of the lack of studio talent, it was a game design that asked 'what if', an old dream of a more-so grounded space exploration game, that mimics the emptiness and puts the Player in the shoes of an explorer, close to how it would feel in real life... that idea didn't sit right with many Players wanting a more old-school space game approach.

What if with TESVI, there is this idea, a dream of what a game in this setting could be. Could we see Todd Howard re-exploring the idea of exploration where nothingness spans across a larger area? Like travelling through a desert, what could you find except of sand and bugs. I do hope that Bethesda will return to POI density of previous games, and that the mistakes made designing Starfield are taken as lessons to move forward, but still I wonder, what if.... what if it won't be the game I was hoping to play.

Rower Gravel do 2500zł

Hejka wszystkim!

Jeśli jednak regularna jazda wejdzie mi w nawyk, to wtedy zainwestuję w coś lepszego.

Mam 185 cm wzrostu, 86 cm przekroku i ważę ok. 92 kg, mam nadzieję, że rower mnie utrzyma! xD

Will there be toilets?

I am flagging this post as a meme, even though I am curious IF TESVI will have toilets/bathrooms.

This thought came to me when I was writing ides for a YouTube Project, and the question that popped up was "Why don't games feature toilets???" It was curious enough at the time that I actually delved a bit into the topic, and it actually hit me, when asked "Are there toilets in games" the most direct answer is 'no' but then I started to think about it.... Kingdome Come Deliverance, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim (only 2 though), Starfield, Bully, 007 GoldenEye, Fallout 4...the list honestly goes on, so games actually do feature toilets, we just don't remember them because they are such a mundane part of our lives.

But back to the question at hand, Skyrim had 2 out-houses from what I recall, as well as a couple of legendary buckets. But I can understand that this decision was due to the compactness of the world map itself, it is pretty dense. As such it didn't make much sense to add an outhouse to every home or a separate room for it. But Starfield took another direction with its toilets, they are almost everywhere, from the prefab 'dungeon buildings', to places in cities.

Will TESVI follow the same? Will they add toilets that are more than poop buckets in the corner of the room?! Oh but I am not asking this out of the silliness of the question! Hammerfell and Redguards cultures are heavily inspired by those found in Africa and the Arabic Peninsula, and it just so happens that during the real world equivalent time (8th - 13th century), Arabic cultures were far more ahead than the Euro-Poop-Bucket (patent pending), they had squat toilets, and pretty good ones at that too.

You see, Arabic cultures, especially the Ottomans and Persians, during the Golden Age they were pioneers of many areas of daily lives and science, included toiletry and plumbing, with personal cleanliness being a big part of that culture. While us Europeans would wipe with leaves and throw poop using our Euro-Poop-Bucket (patent pending) out the window, the Arabic cultures would have squat toilets with plumbing as well as running water. The remnants of this genius can be found in the cities like Baghdad.

Knowing all this, bit of game design and history, I beg to ask the question, Will TESVI have toilets?

Let em cook!

MEN, WOMEN, BEASTFOLK and all in between!

I see we are slowly losing hope! We shant give up this easily! Shall I remind you what we are waiting for?! New Adventure! New Stealth Archer builds! New Ma'iq quotes! New lands to explore! New foods to try! New mods to look forward to!

We have waited over a decade, A DECADE! we have seen ourselves grow, many of us have started families, businesses, climbed corporate ladders, changed their lifestyles, some have been sent to war and back, some are stationed at military bases as we speak. We have all grew so much ever since Skyrim released and the wait has started.

We have gained and lost friends, we seen life be brought into the world and life end during this wait, we all hoped this month will be it, that we will learn, we will see, but, this year is not the end, for we shall wait a bit longer, but my brethren we shall make it! and when we do, we shall celebrate with mead in hand.

When someone asked "How much longer?" my late aunt would always reply "We are closer than we are further", and that is what we shall remember, we are closer than we are further away.

We shall hold, we shall let Todd and the entire team at Bethesda cook, let them forge an adventure that will keep us hooked for longer than the time we have waited for it!

The Elder Scrolls Show?

So there is a leak/rumour in regards to Xbox announcing their own Film + TV division.

https://preview.redd.it/w93786t7vu5h1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=177981e7c90931f8279c4ed5d147c9cf9ce93f0b

And it did make me wonder, Xbox has been slowly but surely diving deeper into the cinematic world, allowing for more cinematic adaptations of their owned IPs, and with the success of Fallout it does make sense for Xbox to try and reignite this Xbox Entertainment Studios dream that they had back in 2012.

So far, from upcoming new stuff coming we have Gears of War live-action and animated Series, Fallout is greenlit for S3, Call of Duty has been working for a while on their live-action movie, Minecraft 2 has been greenlit, Grounded animated series has started and there are also rumours of Starcraft and Diablo getting something.

It is very much in the realm of possibility that The Elder Scrolls may see the same, but, It would have to be done correctly....

For me, I think that the best thing for a TES adaptation would be either an animated series focusing on shorter stories or certain characters, a bit like an anthology, or if it is Live-Action, set it around a event in TES Lore books, not something from the games... Like having a series surrounding the College Of Winterhold before it's destructions would be interesting imo.

If there will be any TES adaptation tho, it would be years from now, 2030 the earliest I would guess, but maybe, our great-great-great-grandkids will be able to enjoy a TES show alongside The Elder Scrolls 8.

Trademark update

As promised I was keeping a close eye on the trademark situation, aaaand nada.....nothing.

I have stated that it is very common for trademarks to be filed just before an announcement / trailer, and that was what I was looking for, and nothing popped up in regards to TES:VI. Doesn't mean it wasn't filed, sometimes it takes a day or two before it gets into the system so it may very well appear after the announcement.

There also hasn't been much chatter from the Insider side it seems, and not just from Bethesda but overall regarding the Xbox Game Showcase it was pretty silent, all I've heard regarding Xbox is Persona 6 and State of Decay 3.

My fingers are still crossed for Sunday though, really hopeful we will learn / see something new in regards to The Elder Scrolls VI.

Biggest Coincidence? - "it's gonna be a while"

So, 3 months ago, exactly on the 18th of February, Todd said in regards to TESVI that "it's gonna be a while yet,", as seen here - https://www.ign.com/articles/the-elder-scrolls-6-will-return-to-bethesdas-classic-style-after-detours-with-skyrim-fallout-76-says-todd-howard

Now, I want to take you back to 2014, fans were still sitting and playing Skyrim but also curious about the next announcement, and he was asked in an interview about when the next announcement will be, he said "but I think it's gonna be a while.”, then nearly a year later in June 2015 the game has been announced, with a release date right around the corner in November 2015.

Guess the date when he is quoted saying "but I think it's gonna be a while."..... February 18th 2014. - https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/apparently-we-wont-hear-about-fallout-4-for-a-while

Now, this is the copium, hopium, mixed in with the fact I've had 4 energy drinks because I only slept 3 hours because of my dog, but what if..... WHAT IF, the fact Todd stated "It's gonna be a while yet" exactly 12 years later at exactly the same date isn't a coincidence? What if, Todd Howard is just two steps ahead, what if he truly planned this as a little easter egg, a hint, a peak into the future?

Xbox Summer Event - 2 Weeks away Trademark update

Since we are getting close to the Xbox Summer Event, 2 weeks from now, I thought I would add a little update as I will be watching the trademark databases closer.

Thus far, I haven't noticed any significant new trademarks being filed, I am closely following their lead attorney, as well as their business entities under which such trademarks can be filed. Naturally I am no clairvoyant so if they were to have filed the trademark under a shell company I may not be able to find it, I am however scanning through the most popular suggested subtitles.

From the older trademarks there have only been 2 updates in regard to the 'merchandise trademarks' as I refer to them, two of those have gotten their 4th Extension granted, and I am very certain the rest will follow soon. The new Deadline for these is December 6th 2026.

That is really all that there is to update you all on here, I guess it would be also important to note that there have also been no new trademarks in relations to the new Xbox console, but that, as well as TESVI subtitle, if it was to be announced at this Xbox Event, it will most likely pop up in the trademark databases at most a week before announcement.

Just an update post that the TES Merch trademarks that were filed late 2025, have had their 4th extension granted on the 24th of April.

A small recap regarding the trademarks, these are mostly merchandise trademarks (for jewellery, clothing, bags etc.). These are awaiting for proof of sale, where Zenimax has to prove that there are physical products with the trademark being sold and delivered to clients. They are able to extend the deadline 5 times, each extension is 6 months. Meaning that Zenimax has until April 2027 to prove that they have physical products under this trademark.

It may be TESVI, but its more likely that this is for Skyrim's Big Anniversary this year.
