"Unhealthy amount of ands"

My beta reader told me this. So I did a search. 88 of them in 3,500 words. If you don't mind, could you please look at one of your sets of 3.5k and see how many "ands" there are? I want to see how much of an outlier I am.

I hate choppy writing with a passion, so there's no way I'm going to reduce the length of sentences, but I can try other methods. I don't think it's a crazy amount though, so I want proof that it is.

Sci-fi or Fantasy or Dystopian with heavy philosophical content

I'm looking for books in this genre that make you think, preferably with characters who are older, but just old souls is also fine. I'm in my 30s and I'm having trouble connecting to protagonists because most of them are not very bright, not very wise, etc.... also the plots are usually not something I can dig my fingers into.

Basically I'm struggling to find my reading niche. I can't even give suggestions for other books I liked because I'm finding I really don't like any of them since becoming an adult.

Also I do NOT like spicy books.

Sorry if this isn't clear enough. It's hard when what I'm looking for isn't something I've SEEN. Well, not true, I suppose Hunger Games is like that, even though that is a YA!

Any suggestions?

Thirsty all the time?

In all my research I've never come across this one. I'm so thirsty all the time. I have to use the restroom every thirty minutes or so some days, because I'm drinking so much water. When I've told doctors this they praise it, but I'm not asking for advice. Just asking if anyone heard this is a symptom or ever experienced this?

35, f, 5'5'', 200, Caucasian, usa, hashimotos thyroiditis, levy, no drugs or smokes, at least 15 years this has been happening, way before my weight was this high or I had hashis.

I have my appointment Thursday and will address with my doctor the fact that I can't stand up. I can walk, I can even dance for ya. I can sit (usually) without pain, but standing up (like in line) is the MOST painful thing ever.

In my experience doctors don't know anything that wasn't suggested to them first. I've suggested the doctor test for every single thing I've ever been diagnosed with, and they don't do tests unless you know what you have. This is in three counties over the course of 10 years, so I doubt there's many doctors out there that don't function that way SO THEREFORE I'm looking for suggestions on what she can test for.

Anyone else have this problem?

Can walk, no pain, can exercise, no pain, but can't stand in line- super painful.

If you do, what was it so I can give the doctor suggestions. Thank you.

So I was on Tumblr and I read this and thought "gee, for real! Not all advice is for every person, huh?" I understand a lot of these. And like the author here, I agree that it doesn't make the advice bad. It's maybe just not for you. What's some writing advice that isn't good, isn't bad, but just doesn't work for YOU? And why that?
