Looking to upgrade to a Kenmore 46 (158.462) zig zag machine. Thoughts?

I’m breaking up with my modern machine! looking for a mostly/all metal retro machine that can handle heavy fabrics, do zigzag stitches, and can back track. Doesn’t have to be light, but does need to be fairly portable. Would this be a solid pick?

Best no-plastic easy to find machine?

I want to break up with my modern plastic brother machine! I also use an old singer 66-1 but it’s not good on the go since it uses a treadle. Looking for a non-plastic sewing machine that can do both straight and zigzag stitches, has backtack abilities, and can be fairly easy to find on the Facebook marketplace. I’m sick of one thick quilt being more than my machine can handle :,) Pls let me know what options would be solid!

Advice for a burnt out art kid

I went to school for art in 19-23 (majorly impacted by covid) After, I went to a popular theme park to work post graduation to have a little fun post sucky covid graduation. since then I’ve been working odd jobs in my field and saving money at home, but I plan to return to my theme park job for the health insurance alone. I feel so lost in wanting a creative career. I’ve barely scratched the surface and I’m exhausted from the instability of it, both due to ai and just financially. the gig hustle culture has worn me out. I’m debating a total career shift honestly. my search history is a lot of “should I go back to school to be a speech language pathologist or a dental hygienist or a . . .” Any advice is appreciated

Looking for new career as a burnt out art kid. Advice?

Im a scad grad with a degree in illustration and theme park design. Ive always been good at drawing and am always creating, but after a few years post graduation trying to find jobs and fighting the rise of ai, I’m feeling burnt out bad. I’m looking to pivot to a career that’s not evil, where I can use my hands, be financially stable/independent, and can’t get sued. Any advice?

I bought this Crowley Stack o Matic off the marketplace for my grandmother. It seems to be fairly unused. She insisted on a player that could stack her records and wasn’t a console, so this was the best option. I’m testing it now and all my records are playing too fast/high pitched? Both my 45s and 33s too. Please help!
