AIO for feeling really hurt after my best friend canceled on me two weekends in a row?
Last weekend, my best friend canceled our plans. We made plans again for today (the Fourth), and this morning she texted me:
"Morning- ended up getting invited to a day thing OT- so ima do that. Sorry 🫣 We definitely gotta link this week though - cuz i owe u."
The "I owe you" part is because she already canceled on me last weekend.
I'm not upset that she got invited somewhere else. I'm hurt because it feels like our plans are the first thing to get dropped when something better comes along. I had already planned my day around seeing her.
We'd also been talking about renting a pontoon boat together for my birthday next weekend, and now I'm honestly questioning whether I should make plans that depend on her.
AIO for feeling rejected?
Need a new comfort comedy; fans of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Arrested Development, help!
I'm in a bit of a funk and looking for something funny to watch.
Some of my favorites are:
* Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
* Arrested Development
* 30 Rock
* Community
* Detroiters
* Party Down
* The Other Two
* I Think You Should Leave
I tend to like fast jokes, absurd situations, weird characters, dry humor, and shows that reward paying attention. Bonus points if it's a little offbeat or surreal.
I've seen a lot of the obvious recommendations already (The Office, Parks & Rec, The Good Place, Schitt's Creek, etc.), so I'm especially interested in hidden gems or shows that flew under the radar.
What's the funniest thing you've watched recently?
Anyone know what happened at Paris Bar Friday night?
I heard that Paris Bar was raided around 12:30 a.m. Friday (6/26), and that a large number of DPD officers in tactical/SWAT-style gear entered while there were only around 20 patrons inside.
I wasn't there, so I'm hoping someone who was, or who has reliable information, can shed some light on what happened. Was this related to a warrant, liquor enforcement, a targeted investigation, or something else?
I'm also curious whether this has happened at other Detroit bars or clubs recently, or if this was an isolated incident. I haven't been able to find any news coverage, so I'm wondering if anyone knows what was going on.
