What editing setup are you using for Shorts vs your main videos, do you treat them the same?
Something I've been thinking about a lot lately and curious where others land on this.
When I first started I used the same setup for everything. Full editing software regardless of whether it was a 10-minute video or a 45-second Short. The habit felt right but the time cost was quietly destroying my upload schedule. I'd spend an entire evening on a clip that most people would watch once and scroll past.
Eventually I split my workflow completely. Main videos still get proper editing time, cuts, colour, audio cleanup, the works. But for Shorts and quick supplementary content I stripped everything back. Started using a lighter browser tool, been on FlexClip for that stuff. Not impressive software at all, no real timeline, but for basic captions and a quick trim it removes enough friction that I actually finish things.
Upload frequency improved more from that one change than anything else I tried.
Still not sure it's the right long-term approach though. Part of me wonders if I'm developing lazy habits by reaching for simpler tools on anything that feels ""small.""
Does anyone else tier their tools based on content type or do you standardise everything through one piece of software?
