Change your mindset about shifting methods so they actually work!!!

I wanted to share because this is something that really helped me

Basically i used to get super caught up in like, making sure i was doing my shifting methods right and wondering why they weren’t working, but i think I figured it out. I have like 3 main things i wanna touch on.
My apologies if this ramble is worded badly or confusing..

firstly, I think a lot of people would benefit from viewing shifting methods as a decided path rather than an “attempt”. When you use a method, you won’t be able to shift if you‘re sitting there waiting for your method to work or to feel something. Many people have the outlook of “I am trying to shift with this method” with the assumption of try, you assume into reality the possibility that you could be doing it wrong. you are just reinforcing that in your current reality, there is a wrong way to shift.

To counter this, Literally don’t even entertain the idea that you may be doing it wrong. I personally like to tell myself something like “that’s ridiculous, I physically can’t be doing it wrong, because whatever i feel right now, I have decided that is part of the course im taking to a decided destination.”

This is why you can literally use any method to shift. because you’re DECIDING that the specific method is your path to get to a decided destination.

when you’re doing this, be aware of your mindset. i often find myself slipping into doubt if im laying there for long enough. i find myself trying to search for symptoms etc, so just attempt to notice when those thoughts enter your mind. every time one does, use affirmations centered around the stuff above^

this is a weird analogy but I used to kinda view my shifting methods as a ring of keys that I was like, trying to put into a lock to see which one would be the right fit. I would attempt one, get frustrated I wasn’t shifting, try another, then another. idk but like I kinda imagine instead that it doesn’t matter which key I choose because the door has locks that fit them all. and also the door is unlocked anyway and you don’t even have to use the keys if you don’t want to.

This post is not a method in itself, but rather a way to approach however you decide to shift, whichever one you choose. keeping it in the back of your mind will help!!

one last thing, always affirm that a method is not required to shift! by choosing your method, you are deciding to take a backroad so to speak. or a highway, or however you decide to drive there. you’re tired, distracted, lazy? that’s the road you’re taking, because you can literally choose any way to shift. awake, asleep, while moving, while distracted, while tired, or lazy, etc. Remove the pressure from yourself, you don’t need to be uncertain at all.

lmk if this helps anyone!

HOLY SHIT!!! Read my victim impact statement today and my family got the justice we deserve.

I thought I would never make this post. This morning, my mom and I took the stand to fight against my abusive stepdad’s “continuance without finding” plea for voyeuristic CSA. we both read victim impacts statements to the judge.… and the judge literally started crying. I started crying. My mom started crying. He told me that he’s been a judge for many, many years and seen over 50,000 cases in his career, and he could count on one hand the amount of victim impact statements that were as moving as the one I gave. After, he basically told my stepdad that his best bet is to take a guilty plea instead of continuance without finding because if he went to trial he’d likely be sent straight to jail. AND HE DID!!!!!!! he pled guilty!!!!!!!!! I feel SO many emotions… relief, validation, I’m soooooo so happy. I feel so grateful that my family was able to get justice because I know so many families don’t have that outcome. To anyone reading that’s in a similar scenario…. there is light at the end of the tunnel and justice will be served. if not in court, then in life through karma. Today might be the best day of my life. If anyone would like to read my statement let me know, especially if you are looking for examples of statements because you are going to write your own. To everyone on this subreddit who’s supported me throughout this journey, thank you SO much. ❤️

Anyone else feel as though their trauma is “embarrasing” or ridiculous to talk about??

I’ve posted here a couple times about my experience. Last year me & my family became aware that my stepdad had been privately recording me and my younger siblings including his bio children in the shower. We realized it had been going on for 3+ years

When I recount what happened to me it feels SO ridiculous to talk about. I’m always embarrassed to tell people what he did even though I know it IS a serious form of csa… it feels like a weird story parents tell their kids about peeping toms or something. idk. if anyone feels similarly I’d be grateful to hear your experiences with it.

Any short butches out there?

hi! I’ve never posted on this subreddit before but i figured maybe some support/advice from butches would be nice right now. I’m 19, and have been identifying as butch for a year or so now I think. I present pretty masculinely and sometimes pass as a boy in public (which I like), however I am 5’1 and have a petite figure even though I am pretty muscular. I guess I struggle to think of myself as “butch enough” since people in my day to day life tend to view me as younger, weaker, or not capable of the strength that I want to radiate. I know that butch is more than your body type but… when people talk about what it means to be butch, a lot of what I see is about taking up space, being handy, strong, and capable. I try my best to be that way but I feel like I fall short, no pun intended. I even see posts online making fun of short masculine lesbians and it just makes me feel horrible about myself. how do I stop feeling like my height/frame is holding me back from the butch label?? any advice or support would be lovely. thank you

Struggling w feeling violent after my fight or flight response chose fight

I’ve posted on this subreddit once before about my experiences. Last yr me and my siblings found out that our stepdad of 13yrs was a pedophile who had been secretly videotaping us showering for at least three years..i was the one to confront him & it ended up being extremely traumatic, he became erratic when we were alone in the kitchen and ended up breaking down the door that me and my 12yr old sister were locked behind to call the police.
We had no idea about this abuse before..he was not a violent man and hardly ever raised his voice,. one of the things he did to degrade me was convince me I had violent tendencies. this would be about things like accidental roughhousing with siblings or my arguments with him,

except, when he confessed he did it to me, i did act violent i put my hands on him, yelled, and swore at him as he cowered away from me. im internalizing this bad bc I fear that he was right about me. I mean, when we called the police he genuinely told me i had committed assault. how do i move past this. i also have ocd and ruminate hard on this, I replay everything that happened and try to convince myself it was warranted but ugh. i feel stuck

Question about “Reasonable doubt” in relation to phones

content warning for pedophilia and child abuse…

hi, im not sure if this is allowed on this sub and if not no worries. I’m not looking for legal advice on taking action, just someone with experience who could clarify the meaning of “beyond reasonable doubt” In relation to this case. Any answers will not affect my actions. I don’t have a lawyer in this case and don’t need one. I’m just curious how it will play out.

basically, in June of last year, we found out my stepfather had a secret camera in the bathroom that me & my siblings and mom use. The only proof of this that we were able to get was my 12yr old sister taking multiple pictures of his phone where an app had been installed connected to this camera. she has pictures of HIS phone with the app on his home screen, and the app opened which showed a screencap of herself nude in the shower. when I confronted him about this, he deleted the app.. the police were called but no arrest was made because he had gotten rid of the evidence. The app connected to the camera had been on his phone for 3 YEARS.

Criminal charges are pending but his lawyer is trying to get the case dismissed. My mom’s lawyer has told her he will probably use the fact that my mom technically had access to his phone against her. my question is, even if my mom technically knew his password, can he still be found guilty for this crime??? Would reasonable doubt include the possibility that she downloaded an app on HIS phone three years ago and has been secretly recording us from HIS phone without his knowledge? that doesn’t seem reasonable to me, but im not sure what the policy would be in court…. im so nervous that the case will be dismissed.

How to stop the imposter syndrome??

I’ve never posted my experiences on this subreddit before but I’m feeling down and I don’t really know where else to go. Tuesday was the 1yr anniversary of my family (me 19, my mom, and my 3 younger siblings all minors) finding out that my stepdad of 14 years was a pedophile who had been secretly recording our bathroom to watch us nude in the shower/toilet. I had a strained relationship with him prior but never ever thought he was pedophilic and I can’t remember ever being physically sexually abused. I was the one that had to confront him about it and it was extremely traumatic.. he was yelling crying & ended up breaking the door down that me and my sister hid behind to call the police. I have no idea how long the video taping has been going on or if he sold or shared these videos.

Since then I’ve been questioning my entire childhood and everything I knew about him. I’m so confused on how to even describe my experience. Am I ”allowed” to call myself a victim of child sexual abuse? Even though in court I have a victim advocate, I feel so guilty using that label since I was never physically abused (that I know of) and I really can’t get out of the “other people had it worse” mindset. I‘m working through it but I feel traumatized. Can I even use that word? He’s not even being registered as a sex offender. I just feel so lost.
