New motor, speed sensor, display. Switched to CAN protocol. Motor only works for about 40 seconds after it’s turned on and then sometimes intermittently.

Things that weren’t replaced but could be are throttle, shift sensor, and the brake levers with the sensors built in. I noticed the shift sensor flashing a red light while the bike is turned on but at rest. What really sucks is that this issue was how the whole project started. The worn out 15 year old motor was working for about 30 minutes after I initially turned it on but then started cutting in and out. I had hoped that by swapping in the new motor, that it needed anyway, that it would fire up and work, but whatever is causing the issue is still present. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you.

Replaced 15 year old motor with a new motor kit. This screw is left over. Can anyone tell me where I was supposed to have used it?

Bought a kit from that one online store. Replaced an old motor with the new motor and I have this screw, with a bit of loctite on the threads, left over. Where was it supposed to go? I’m a tiny bit worried it’s very important.

Speed Sensor and Motor Swap Questions

I’m installing a new motor to replace one that is 15 years old. There was a loose 3 pin wire that was the perfect length to reach my old speed sensor wire, which also had 3 pins. I cut and spliced the end off my old motor on to the new motor so the wires could be connected. Then I find a wire and sensor that my old motor didn’t have. I asked on this sub and was told that was the speed sensor. So what wire did I cut the 3 pin connector (the orange triangle one in the picture) from? What is that wire supposed to be connected to?

My new display from Lunacycle also didn’t plug in to the new cable so I had to cut and splice a new end on the cable. Fingers crossed that works.

What is this?

I’m doing a motor replacement and the new motor has a wire and sensor that my old motor did not have. Please tell me what it is and if you have any installer advice I’d appreciate that too. It’s on a pretty shortish wire from the motor. The sensor connects to the wire with an inline plug. Thanks

A few months ago I sold some equipment to a guitar painter in Portland. I want to do business with them now but I have lost their contact info. Can anyone find me a skilled guitar painter in Portland that wants a little bit more work?

About every two months the company I work for needs a handful of small brass parts beautifully painted in clear lacquer. I’m looking for someone that has skills, like a guitar painter, that is interested in picking up an extra job occasionally. Send me a message, or comment here, if you think you may be that person. Additionally, there may be an opportunity for us to provide you with custom parts for your guitar builds, you never know.
