Oh God, thank you Microsoft

Oh God, thank you Microsoft

They moved the garbage Copilot button in PowerPoint to the bottom right of the slide, whereas before it was on top and actively keeping the slide from being zoomed in properly in the desktop app. Looks like someone at MS has some common sense after all.

I'm not a hater of Copilot -- I can't imagine my life without automatic Teams meeting minutes -- but in PowerPoint it's still useless, so I don't want it, or at least want it out of my way.

McChicken vs. Chicken Mayo in Spain

So I wanted to make this post about how the chicken mayo at €1.70 is a lot more value than the McChicken at €5.40, but now actually looking at them side by side it's not that obvious. It's the exact same formula (chicken, lettuce, mayo) but the McChicken bun and patty is bigger.

That being said, the double chicken mayo is €3.40 and that already has more chicken than the McChicken. And there's also the triple chicken mayo at €5.20! I think I'll stick to those.

What would you take?

Daddy, these are the best burgers, better than you make!

So... Any tips for replicating a McDonalds cheeseburger at home? I'm guessing I'll have to make my own 1/10lb patties since they don't sell such crap in any of the supermarkets around me. Maybe take a 200g patty and make 2 out of it...

While Spain is waiting for the new Whopper, I've gone for my monthly Big King XXL. It's basically a double whopper with cheese and no tomatoes, and with bic mac sauce instead of mayo. Not the best presentation today but it's really good.

I remember this thing being heavily promoted in Russia circa 2010, where I lived at the time. There was a huge advertising campaign aimed to chip away at McDonalds market dominance. The non-XXL version of the Big King even had the third bun in the middle.

I live in Spain in a 2010-built, 800-unit development managed by a corporate landlord.

There are about 200 units exactly like mine, and they all (according to my visits to my neighbors) have these two random outlets in the kitchen next to the fridge that make absolutely no sense.

The top outlet is always about 1 inch to the left of the bottom one. This makes no sense either.

The top outlet is on the "ground floor outlets" 16A circuit. The bottom outlet is on the "kitchen outlets" 16A circuit.

I look at this every day and I see this as a mystery that I will never solve.

Someone, 18 years ago, put these into the blueprints for 200 houses. I asked the landlord for the blueprints but they told me they were lost.

Now we will never know.

That is all.

I had to tell someone.
