Pixel 9 still showing “Android Beta Exit with Data Wipe” — when will no-wipe stable OTA arrive?

I’m on a Pixel 9, running Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 (CP41.260731.005.B1). I opted out of the Beta Program about a month ago, but I’m still only getting the “Android Beta Exit with Data Wipe” update.

The current Beta build is becoming very annoying to use — the UI is laggy and sometimes doesn’t respond properly. I also got a green line issue while on this Beta, which was later fixed under warranty by replacing the display.

I really want to move to the stable Android 17 release, but I don’t want to wipe my phone.

Has anyone with a Pixel 9 on QPR2 Beta 3 received the stable/no-wipe OTA yet? How long did you have to wait after opting out?

Has anyone received the September update on their Pixel 9?

I haven't received it yet. I'm on a beta opt-out program, so I require the stable update to downgrade from my current beta version. Otherwise, if I update without a new stable release, my data will be erased. Therefore, I'm waiting for the update.

Pixel 9 Green Line After Android Beta — Warranty Screen Replacement Experience

Pixel 9 Green Line After Android Beta — Warranty Screen Replacement Experience

I wanted to share my experience with a green line issue on my Pixel 9.

I installed Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 (build CP41.260731.005.B1). After installing the Beta, I started noticing a thin, intermittent green vertical line on the display. Sometimes it was visible and sometimes it disappeared.

The line was also visible on the Google boot screen, so I contacted Google Support to check whether it was a software or hardware issue.

Google Support reviewed my case and confirmed that the device could be repaired under warranty. Since I preferred a walk-in repair, I visited an authorized service centre in Hyderabad.

The service centre diagnosed the display issue and replaced the screen under warranty.

The whole repair was completed in around 2 hours, which was much faster than I expected. They also told me that the replacement screen has a 3-month warranty.

I'm sharing this mainly to help other Pixel users who might experience something similar. Has anyone else experienced a green line after installing a Pixel Beta update?

Does anyone else feel like Tollywood is slowly moving away from feel-good romantic dramas and rom-coms?

Back in the day, even Tier-1 heroes regularly did love stories, family entertainers, and character-driven films. Movies didn't need massive budgets, action sequences every 20 minutes, or PAN-India ambitions to become memorable. Strong writing, good music, relatable characters, and emotional storytelling were enough to make them classics.

Today, it feels like almost every major project is being designed as a PAN-India film from the poster stage itself. While there's nothing wrong with ambitious cinema, I sometimes wonder if this trend has come at the cost of other genres—especially romance and feel-good dramas.

One thing I've noticed is that when big stars stop doing a genre, the entire ecosystem around that genre gets affected. Writers who specialize in romance get fewer opportunities, directors may be pushed toward action-oriented subjects, producers become hesitant to invest, and eventually fewer fresh love stories get made.

Meanwhile, many younger filmmakers seem to be moving away from pure romance because it's harder to get those projects greenlit at a larger scale. As a result, we get fewer memorable love stories compared to previous decades.

The interesting thing is that audiences still seem to appreciate emotional, relationship-driven films whenever they are made well. So I'm not sure if the demand is gone or if the industry has simply shifted its focus elsewhere.

Do you think romance and feel-good cinema are actually declining in Tollywood? Or is it just evolving into a different form?

And if a Tier-1 hero announced a medium-budget, well-written rom-com or love story tomorrow, would you be excited to watch it in theaters?

Building a proper Discord community platform for Kakinada — launching soon, need suggestions & feedback 👋

Hi everyone 👋

I’ve been working on building a proper Discord-based community platform for Kakinada, and it should be going live within the next few days.

The main goal is to create a genuine community space for locals, students, employees, newcomers, travelers, business owners, and basically anyone connected to Kakinada.

Right now, a lot of local information online feels:

- unreliable

- overly promotional

- inactive

- scattered across random apps/groups

So the idea is to build one organized community where people can:

- ask questions

- share local updates

- help each other

- discover trusted places/services

- discuss city-related topics

- build useful local connections

Planned sections/features include:

- Traffic & road updates

- Local events

- Jobs/internships

- Student discussions

- Tech/startup networking

- PGs/hostels/rentals

- Trusted services

- Emergency contacts/help

- Scam & safety alerts

- Buy/sell/help requests

- City discussions

- Genuine reviews & recommendations

- Community support

The focus is NOT only food/reviews.

I’m trying to build something much broader — more like a digital community hub for Kakinada.

Why Discord?

Because it supports:

- organized channels/categories

- moderation systems

- privacy & safety controls

- automation/bots

- role systems

- scalable community management

Some things I’m prioritizing heavily:

- Genuine discussions

- No fake paid promotions

- Strong moderation

- User privacy & safety

- Community trust

- Long-term usefulness

Still improving things before launch, so I’d genuinely love suggestions and feedback from people here.

- What features would you want?

- What problems should be avoided?

- What would make you trust/join such a community?

- Any ideas/suggestions before launch?

Would love to hear honest opinions from Kakinada people 🙌
