Question for engineers in Libya: How is the current market for automation/systems integration?

Hey everyone,Greetings from just across the border in Gabes! I'm an Industrial Automation & Controls Engineer trying to get a better understanding of the current industrial landscape in Libya right now.

Because we are so close geographically, I’m looking to expand my professional network and target engineering opportunities or integration projects within the Libyan industrial and energy sectors.

I specialize heavily in the Rockwell (Studio 5000) and Siemens (TIA Portal) ecosystems, focusing on PLC logic design, process control, and high-performance HMI layouts.

For the engineers or tech professionals on here: How active is the local market for systems integration right now?

Are there specific local engineering firms, OEMs, or hubs (like Misrata or Tripoli) that you would recommend looking into?

Would love to hear your insights in the comments, or feel free to DM me if you’re in the field and down to connect! Thank you so much!

Question for the industrial / automation engineers here (Greetings from Gabes!)

Hey everyone, I'm an automation and controls engineer based in Gabes, Tunisia.

Since the logistical setup between southern Tunisia and the western Libyan industrial zones is so close, I'm trying to map out the current automation landscape over there and connect with local systems integrators or engineers in the field.

I mainly focus on Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk) and Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC) systems, specifically handling modular logic design and high-performance ISA-101 HMI architecture.

Since I’m actively looking to jump into roles in the region, I wanted to ask those already on the ground: how is the market looking right now for control systems engineering, and are there specific local platforms or integrators you’d recommend reaching out to?

Let me know in the comments or DMs! Thank you so much

Beyond the basics: Where can I learn complete PLC system architecture and fault recovery?

Hey guys,

I’m done with the basic PLC courses, I know how instructions, timers, and basic rungs work. However, I’m struggling to find advanced resources that teach "complete system design and software architecture from scratch".

Most tutorials just show how to map inputs to outputs, but they completely skip how to architect an entire plant or machine.

Are there any books, courses (paid or free), or YouTube playlists that specifically teach:

* System Architecture: Designing an entire process or machine sequence from the ground up.

* State Management: Building robust finite state machines (like PackML / s88) instead of using a messy web of loose Boolean flags.

* Fault Handling & Recovery: How to safely trap interlocks, handle exceptions mid-sequence, freeze state memory, and execute clean recovery sequences to resume operation safely without losing process data.

What are your go-to resources for this? Thanks!

Starting net salary in Tunis for a junior industrial automation technician?

Hi everyone, I'm a junior industrial automation technician (Licence) looking for a job in tunis

I am a fresh grad with a portfolio of practical projects focusing on Siemens (tia portal) and Rockwell automation environments, covering plant-wide programming, plc logic, and hmi design. I am trying to get a realistic picture of the job market here

Based on this profile, what net salary range should I be lookin for?

P.S. my dms are open if any system integrators or automation companies in tunis are hiring

Thank you
