Anyone gotten LASIK recently? Wondering how much you paid (I don’t have eye insurance) and whether you’d recommend your provider? Thanks!

In May, I paid my tattoo artist via PayPal. His account is in EUR, mine is in USD. It showed up on my Bank of America (BoA) credit card (CC) as PayPal and all was well.

Last month, I paid him again. This time, it showed up as Bitstamp on my CC and I’ve now been charged cash advance fees and interest.

I called PayPal, they said they processed it as themselves and pointed the finger at BoA. I contacted BoA, they said that’s how the merchant showed up and “Wire/Cash Advance” is how the merchant classifies themselves so they can’t do anything and to contact PayPal.

So a classic case of them point the finger at each other and me holding a $200 bag. Anyone had this happen before and successfully get it resolved (i.e., fees refunded)?
