What can I do about this?

EDIT: We’re new to TX and saw other posts about rates sitting between 10-12¢/kWh currently, I didn’t know if 14.2¢/kWh was high. Thank you to those who provided helpful responses without sarcasm.

Original: We bought our house in May. 2750 sq ft. I work from home. I keep the lights off for the most part during the day. We have gas heating, stove and oven. I keep the house at 75 during the day and 70 at night (10 pm to 8 am). Mansfield TX. Is this high?

$150 for 2 premium 2.0 lines?

Is this good or bad? I saw others say they were only paying $15 per line when they brought their own devices, but even with military discount we’re paying $75/line?

Is this normal?

ATT keeps removing our military discount

We’ve been with ATT for a total of 3 months now, and have had to reverify my husbands status 4 times, despite showing CAC for reserves, drivers license with veteran status, DD214 from active duty. Every billing cycle, they remove it.

It changes our bill for wireless from $90 to $150 until we go in person to bring it back down.

What the hell is going on??

Wanting to start over

When I came into university as a transfer student, I had a 3.25 gpa, all the while going through chronic illness but making it work. After I transferred to university, over the course of 3 years, I lost my colon, both ovaries, my uterus, etc. This lead me into a downward spiral in which I didn’t value my worth and found myself in an abusive relationship where I was hiding in the bathroom to get my homework done. I ended up graduating with a 2.42 gpa, something I’m not proud of. While I understand I’m still part of the 11% of those with chronic illness who do graduate from university, I still feel ashamed that I didn’t finish stronger. I excel at work, and would love to pursue a masters degree. I’m just stuck on a path forward. I didn’t get low grades because I tested poorly, I’d missed busy work and homework assignments, or would have to withdraw from some classes after the deadline when it would show on my record.

I’m much healthier now, in a supportive relationship. And I want better for myself.

Is there a way to come back from this?

Converts

I (F32)was raised and baptized Episcopalian, but was never confirmed, my fiancé (M32) has never been baptized.

Ive never been married. He was married (courthouse) prior to me at the age of 19 to an unbaptized woman, with no kids. They divorced at 24 because she was unfaithful while he was deployed.

We met a few years later, and have been together for 5 1/2 years.

Lately we’ve both been exploring catholic teachings and even considered converting, as I already have family that are catholic and his father’s side prior to my fiancé’s generation were raised catholic.

Given our mixed history: What would be the steps for us to become catholic, and would our marriage be considered valid in the eyes of the church?

Thank you!

Washer and Dryer recommendations

Looking for recs on a good quality washer and dryer set. This is a gift from my parents as a house warming gift so please don’t say Miele, Speed Queen or Bosch.

Preferences:

- low risk of mold
- ease of use
- minimal smart features (can have some but without AI, etc)
- large capacity (king and dog beds)
- quick dry times
- cleans clothes well
- minimal water left after spinning while maintaining integrity of clothing

Thank you!

Mortgage Anxiety

This may seem completely stupid, but I’m just wondering if y’all had first time home buyer mortgage anxiety?

We have $80k left in savings after a $100k down payment($497,000 house), and our mortgage is going to be $2700 a month(at 5.75% in TX). We bring in just under $12k a month with zero debts and I feel so stupid for having anxiety, but I still do. My husband and I have both been dirt poor in our young adulthood and know how fragile finances can be based on a few bad events. Is it normal to have anxiety like this?

What type of oil…

My 2022 CX-5 turbo premium has an oil cap that says 5w30, prior services have put in 5w30, but when oil change places pull my VIN it’s telling them OW20. I know the 2023 turbo takes 5w30 to reduce wear due to higher operating temps, and again, my cap says 5w30, but others are getting OW20?

Can someone explain this to me? Has anyone else had this issue?

Orange stains from dryer?

We bought a lightly used LG washer and dryer set, both electric. I’ve noticed the last two washes it’s been leaving my white or light colored clothes with orange spots.

I’ve never had this issue with any appliances. What is this part and is there a way to fix it?
