Ritalin Making things Worse?

I’ve had dry eyes a LONG time. They got exponentially worse just over a year ago. I sought help last October and have been trucking along doing all the things. Doxycycline, restasis, eyelid hygiene, serum tears, compresses, Meibo, omegas…on and on. I had my first IPL (no expression) two weeks ago - which made things WORSE but I know to stick it out.

I have MGD/ocular rosacea. For a moment, things seemed like they could be improving but alas, they have not. I started Ritalin about 3-4 months ago. Now I’m wondering if that’s exacerbated my condition? It’s clearly not caused it but I wonder if it’s preventing me from any success? I was out of town for something and forgot it - my eyes felt better that weekend despite being in the wind. I tried to pinpoint what I did differently. It hit me this morning like a ton of bricks. I take my meds after getting to work each morning around 9-930. My symptoms always flare soon after that….

I’m going to hold off on them this weekend and see what happens. Which really sucks but I choose eyes over attention span and focus bc my eyes hurting negates any focus gained from the meds.

Am I onto something? Anyone else go through this???

IPL

I would love to hear or see your IPL results. I’m scheduled for Monday and really really hoping this does the trick . Living like this is miserable. I’m paying out of pocket for the IPL and my eye doctor seems to think I’m a good candidate for it. Fingers crossed!

Thanks in advance.

Games per Day

Last weekend our team played three games Sat and two Sunday. The heat was awful and the kids were absolutely spent. Across the tournament there were injuries, heat exhaustion bad enough kids couldn’t play the next day, concussions….it was a hard weekend.

This weekend coming up the schedule has them playing four games Saturday and one Sunday. Everything in me is saying this is absolutely not safe and I’m pretty angry that the tournament, our league and coaches aren’t flagging this and prioritizing player safety.

I just want a gut check. So many things in this sport aren’t safe and injuries are going to happen. I wish my kid loved track or swimming, haha. I just feel like when and where it’s preventable, we should prioritize it. Pads, helmets, mouth guards, cups, hydration, stretching, tapping out if needed, and not over scheduling games where kids are more prone to injury when fatigued (emotionally and physically) and out there in this heat.

I try not to make waves and support the team where I can, but this is really bothering me. I’d love to hear from others.

Bangs??

Ladies…if you’re willing - can you show me before and after pics with bangs? I asked chat gpt to compare my face two years ago to now and tell me what is different and suggest things to do. It was kind so thats nice. But did say that getting narrower with age and hair loss, it looks longer. Suggested curtain bangs start ay the cheek could be a great refresher than long and straight, with the illusion of pulling features down.
Bangs scare me!! Haha. But if you did this and love it, and are willing to share, show me your pics?? I’d love real life inspo!

Adapalene vs Tret

Hellooooo.

I’ve read all the research so I know the differences in how they work and for what. I’ve also read that adapalene can be just as good in the aging/wrinkle reduction space as tret over time bc of user compliance (better tolerated so used consistently).

I use adapalene .3% from my dermatologist. While I’ve read about it, I’m curious about real life experiences.
Anyone move from adapalene (especially the higher of the two) over to tret and feel like you noticed a difference that made you glad you switched? I’m 44 now so while I’ve been totally fine with the adapalene (my big issues were hormonal break outs, melasma and the beginning of fine lines), now that I’m older I’m wondering if the switch is worth it or stay the course?

Thanks for sharing your experience :)

Looks like I’m losing my job. Sigh.

What is the simplest routine with cost effective products that actually work?

Would love all thoughts!! Thank you!
