Looking for beginner acting classes in Shankar Market (CP) – any recommendations?

Are there really good acting classes/theatre groups in Shankar Market, Connaught Place? Need honest reviews.

Hey everyone,

A few of my friends told me that there are some really good theatre groups and acting classes in Shankar Market, Connaught Place (Delhi). I've heard it's a popular place for starting actoring ,but I'm not sure how true that is.

Has anyone here trained there or joined any theatre group in Shankar Market? If yes:

- Which group or acting school did you join?

- How was your experience?

- Is it beginner-friendly?

- Do they actually help improve acting skills and provide performance opportunities?

I'm serious about learning acting and would love to hear honest reviews or recommendations before I visit.

Thanks in advance!

DTU 2nd Year Student Starting UPSC Prep – Need Guidance on Coaching and Where to Begin

Hello everyone,

I am currently a 2nd-year student at DTU and have recently decided that I want to start preparing for UPSC. The problem is that I have almost no knowledge about the UPSC exam, its preparation strategy, coaching options, or the overall process. Because of this, I am feeling quite confused and would really appreciate some guidance from experienced aspirants.

My main questions are:

How should I start UPSC preparation from absolute basics?

Is it a good idea to join coaching while managing college studies?

Do coaching institutes teach everything from the beginning for complete beginners?

Which coaching institutes near DTU would you recommend?

Should I choose online coaching or offline coaching, considering that I am also attending college?

What resources (NCERTs, newspapers, books, etc.) should I start with in my 2nd year?

My goal right now is to understand the UPSC journey properly and build a strong foundation during college itself. I am not looking for shortcuts—I just want to know the right way to begin and avoid wasting time or money on the wrong coaching.

I would be grateful if seniors, DTU students, or UPSC aspirants could share their experiences and suggestions.

Thank you! 🙏

Should I Change My Pen Grip or Keep It As It Is?

Hi everyone,

I've attached a photo of how I hold my pen. My grip feels comfortable, but it slows down my writing and sometimes my hand gets tired.

Does my grip look okay, or should I try to change it? Could it be causing the slow writing and discomfort ? (especially for mains writing as I cleared prelims) as I am preparing myself just self study and on my own, so no one is there to guide me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

New NCERTs Based on NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023: Are They Suitable for UPSC Preparation?

Hello everyone,

I am starting my UPSC preparation in the second year of college and have begun reading NCERTs. I have a query regarding the recently updated Social Science NCERT textbooks for Classes 6–10.

As per the new curriculum, all Social Science subjects—History, Geography, Political Science (Civics), and Economics—have been integrated into a single textbook for each class. Previously, these subjects were covered through separate books.

My question is: Should I read these newly updated NCERT books, or should I continue with the older NCERTs that have traditionally been recommended for UPSC preparation? Which option would be more beneficial from a UPSC perspective?

I would appreciate suggestions from experienced aspirants.

Thank you.
